Hi all, I have a question re the beach @ Poly. We'll be there in Aug and are thinking of taking a day off from the parks to go to TL. I can't imagine staying the ENTIRE time and will probably go back to the hotel around 2 or 3. I was thining 2 options for the evening, depending on how tired ds gets. Our early night would be a trip to AKL (I have a reservation at Sanaa) and then toodling around the resort and looking at animals.

My "party animal" option, or so I thought, would be to head to Poly for dinner and then catch some fireworks. I understand that you cannot pool hop (we're staying at AoA btw), but what about the beaches? I was thinking dinner @ Kona and then maybe hanging on the beach w/our 7 yr old ds and finally catching some fireworks. He can amuse himself to no end in some sand. The thing is, would that be allowed or even advisable?

Any insights would be so appreciated. Thanks!!

oops just realized that this is probably not the right board. Sorry!! I can't figure out how to delete my post.

You can do this with no problem. We love watching the fireworks, and the water parade, from the beach at the Poly. Have fun !!

What I have seen posted here (and what I have witnessed when staying @ Poly) is that visiting diners will go onto the sand to watch the fireworks. While there are beach chairs and hammocks there, bring a towel for the sand and leave the chairs for resort guests. The beach is huge. Also, stay put for the Electric Water Pageant- should float by the Poly close to 9.
