Question about point usage by MS

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday season! Quick question. If I were to make a reservation for Dec 2013 using 2013 points would I be able to then change which points are being used for that reservation at a later time? Meaning once I bank whatever is left of this years points, can I change the point usage by MS? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I've done that before. The only issue is if the reservation was made in the 11 month window the points have to be from the same resort.

Blazer fan is correct, using points from another resort would mean canceling your current reservation and hoping it's still available when the rebook

Depening on your UY, you could bank your 2012 points now and use those points for the reservation. And then if you decide to travel in your 2012 UY you could borrow 2013 points. But once borrowed they would stay in your 2012 UY and they cannot be banked.

You can later switch banked for regular points if (a) points are from the same resort, or (b) points are from a different resort, the switch is being made during the 7 month window, and room category and time you have is still available generally for members to reserve.
