Question about picking up a rental car

We are staying at the Poly in September, and when we check out on 9/26, we need to pick up our rental car at the Doubletree near Downtown Disney.

I have a couple of questions about accomplishing this:

1. Do we need to hop on a resort bus to DTD with all of our luggage to get to the rental car location?

or...

2. Will Budget come to the Poly to pick us up instead? If they will come to the Poly, where will we meet them?

Not sure if Budget will come pick you up or not...maybe others can answer that.

If it were me...I would probably take a taxi from my hotel to get the car (cost no more than $20) then drive myself back to get my family and luggage. I'd easily pay $20 for a cab to avoid schlupping all my baggage and family on a Disney bus to DTD then walking up the street to the Doubletree.

Be aware you can not take luggage on a Disney bus other than the ME. They will not allow you to board with luggage. So plan accordingly.

When I was at AKV in June, there were 2 families on the bus coming from the Animal Kingdom with luggage. The bus stopped at Kidani first and neither family knew if they were staying at Kidani or Jambo! We were sitting there while 1 woman was on her cellphone calling someone to find out! The bus driver did say that Kidani was all DVC. Finally she got off with the luggage.

According to Budget's website, the Budget at the Doubletree @ Walt Disney World Hotel Plaza BLVD has free pick up service. You would need to call the Budget location at Doubletree at (407) 827-6089. Pick-up requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the pickup time needed. When you call the location, be sure to provide all applicable information including exact time of pickup, precise address, and a phone number whre you can be reached at that time.

I will be staying at the Boardwalk, and today, made a reservation with budget at the Doubletree location to rent a car on Saturday Aug 08. I called the location, and was informed that, yes they do have the pickup service, and I need to call at least 24 hours in advance to be picked up to be taken over to the Doubletree location.
