question about photopass

I have a quick question about the photopass disc. I know that if you order the disc before going on your trip you can buy it for around $100, instead of $125. But my SIL is down there now, and they are selling the disc for $125, and printing 3 pictures while you are there (metioned something about a book-but not sure) If you preorder for the $100 do you get the 3 pictures printed as well? Are the 3 photos worth the extra $25 if it isn't included. Thanks for your help.

Dont know about the offer. What I do know is that the photos cost:

$12.95 for one 5x7
$12.95 for two 4x6's

So getting 3 5x7's is worth it, getting 3 4x6's is not.

We had an 8 day park hopper and brought our own camera too. We only ordered a few of the photopass photos as we only had about 20 taken and most were not that good. In front of castle at night is a must though!!

By the time we were done with our small order, because the prints were so expensive, we likely would have saved a tiny bit purchasing the CD rather than buying Disney printed photos. If they offer a discount on the albums (the Disney Photobook) that you can create digitally after the trip, I would take that package in a heartbeat. You can upload your own photos to the site and digitally scrap the trip with the photopass photos and your own. Lots of great disney layouts to choose from and places to type in the titles/story of the layout. And the cost per album to use your own pics and the disney pics starts at $69.95 for 20 pages in a leather bound book. You add a certain amount for each additional page - which we needed But it was WELL WORTH it!! We love our two books and the kids want to read them at storytime every night. I like to scrapbook but am very slow plus dont have a great space. Online it was easy to do a bit at a time on the web when I got a break at work or at home and not have a huge mess to worry about cleaning up afterwards or leaving a mess out on the DR table all the time.

I personally don't think the three pictures are worth it because once you have the CD, you have the rights to the pictures so you can take them anywhere to print them (Walgreens, Target, Snapfish, etc.) and I am pretty sure I could get three prints for a lot cheaper than $25. Just mho...

Yes, you are right MN Football Mommy... when you have the CD... why would you need 3 pictures unless you need (want) them right away?!?!?! Thanks for clearing that up - man am I gullible. No wonder I came from for WDW much poorer!! LOL

If you buy it at the parks, you do get three 5x7's. However, when you buy the CD online, you have a month to edit the photos, crop, add borders, etc. If you get it at the parks, you won't get to do all that and you can't do it after the CD is made (at least as far as I know). They may edit a few for you, but certainly not as much as you'd get if you did it at home. I'd rather have the editing capability than three prints.

I pre-ordered the CD also. We leave in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!! From what I understand, after you get back from your trip, you go online, enter the code you receive after you purchase, and then order the CD. It is shipped to you shortly after that. The CD has ALL of the photopass pics taken from your trip and you can upload them anywhere to be printed. I've also been told that you should tell the photopass photographers that you pre-ordered the CD and to take as many pics as they can. Please, anyone correct me if I'm mistaken. Thanks!

I don't think you can buy the pre-purchased at the parks.

And as far as I know, the one at the parks is UNedited. No borders, no signatures, no nothing fun.

So if you aren't going to edit them anyway, if you are a photoshop queen and will do your own enhancements and are going to buy the CD without the edits at all, and if you are impatient, it might be worth it to buy the plain CD to have in your hand right at that moment, along with a few prints. But if you want to edit and are not impatient, just do it online.
