Question about Photopass Magic Shots

Hi all!

I saw this great post on here about where the photopass photographers can magic shop something into a picture for you. I think this idea is fabulous - I love it. Do you have to specifically ask these photographers if they can do something like this or will it be posted somewhere what they will photoshop in for you? Just curious because DD would LOVE tinkerbell and DS would get a kick out of the darth vader one...

Different parks have different thing that go into the shot. I have had Simba in my arms for shots at AK, Stitch in DHS, Tinkerbelle at MK, a Soarin' thingie at Epcot. You can tell if the photographer is going to do some of the stuff...at MK you are asked to hold out your hands...Tink then is shown sitting in your hand. If you are asked to put your arms as if cradling a baby at AK, you will find Simba in your arms. Look down at the street and look shocked at DHS and you will end up looking at Stitch coming up from under the street....that sort of thing.

Most of the time the photographer will take multiple shots. As an example, at AK it will be your party as a standard photo. Then there will be one with one of you pretending to hold a baby. When the photo is complete it will show Baby Simba in your arms.

Once you come home, you can also add some effects to your photos on the photopass website.

it's meant to be a 'surprise,' but the photogs will do it on request. it's a little bit more involved than just asking for it though. only certain photogs at certain times in certain places sort of thing.

i'll pm you a page on photopass which - in part - explains the magic shots and gives details and sample photos.

at WDW, there are about 12 different ones currently being offered

Does anyone know if it's possible to have this added after we upload our photos to photopass? DD did the pose for simba at AK, but when I uploaded the pics, simba was not there, just a pic of her cradling her arms. Is it too late, or is there some way to add it?

I just got back on the 24th and this was my experience:

i handed the photopass photographer my card
they did the "normal" pics
had to ask for "magic" pics

also, from what i heard and from personal experience, photographers with tripods cannot do these magic shots and they also cannot be done at night.

not one of the photographers offered them up, i had to ask every time. but they had no problem at all doing them!

That happened with me at Studios - they never put stitch in. I didn't try to get him added, I assumed it was too late.

The same thing happened to me. Just email photopass about the problem, they can fix it.

The one who does the Captain Hook shot outside of Pirates of the Caribbean does it with a tripod. It's one that shouldn't be missed!

If you know someone with photoshop, they can always add a character to a photo for you. I do it all the time for my family and friends. It is fun to do and really easy.

Adding Disney clipart to photos is so much fun. Here are a couple of shots I did recently of DD at the Flower and Garden show at Epcot.

The photogs always offered the shots to us. They left tink off in one shot, it looks bizarre without her there. I contacted them yesterday about adding it and am waiting to hear back.

I used photoshop to add the characters to my photos on the previous page of this thread.

man... I tried to find a list of all the special shots before my last trip, but I couldn't find one (I'm pretty sure I even looked on that site)
Now I'm bummed, because we only got 3 of the special shots.
I would just do it again, but my family doesn't want to purchase Photopass this time, and I don't want to pay for the whole thing myself.
Too bad we can't do PhotoPass shares anymore...
