Question about paying for vacation with my disney visa rewards

I have about $600 worth of disney visa rewards saved up. We are planning a trip in August. We happen to have a AAA membership so we usually go thru them for the planning part of the trip. I have several questions though...

1. Will I be able to use my rewards gc that I have generated from my visa to pay for parts of my trip if I book thru AAA?

2. We plan on getting the meal plan... will I be able to pay the tip portion of our meals with my disney gc that is generated from my visa or can you only pay the tips with cash?

Thanks for the help.

1. I've never used AAA, but I've used other TAs, and I've been able to pay with the rewards $$. (in fact, other than the $200 deposit, we will be paying for our entire trip with GCs and the DRDs...)

2. I think you can use the DRDs for tips directly, but you could also charge everything to your room then pay that off with the DRDs. That's how I usually do it.

We usually book through Disney, so I can't give you a definite answer, but I would really assume you could use the card to pay a portion of your balance.

You can definitely pay tips with the rewards card (or a CC). We have done this when using the dining plan. You can also pay with the rewards card anywhere that takes CCs including most of the carts. You will get a receipt that lists the balance you have left on the card each time you use it.

As long as you have the actual rewards card in your hand, not your Disney Visa, your AAA agent should be able to apply it to your reservation. Or you can just pay the deposit and when you arrive use your reward card to pay the balance.

If you book a package (which I assume OP is doing since she mentioned dining) you must pay in full 45 days prior to your trip.

You only pay a deposit and then balance upon arrival with a room only reservation.
