Question about parking

I just thought about this yesterday and I don't remember Tanis saying anything about it, but I was just wondering if they make your wedding guests pay for their own parking.

I don't remember anyone ever mentioning it and was just curious.

I would assume they don't, but just wanted to confirm with someone whose already been there and done that.

Location is the WP by the way.

I haven't been, but my parents went to visit the WP when they were at Disney last time after I started talking about getting married there, when they came home they had a map that the person at the MK parking lot entrance had given them showing them how to get to the WP. They didn't have to pay, (although they had free parking anyway) so I would imagine you would go about getting there like you would if you were eating at the GF or any other resort. Does that make any sense? Someone can correct me if i'm wrong. It would be sad if Disney charged guests to park at your wedding...

Stitchfan18 is correct. There is no charge for parking at the WP.

I wondered this too because our guests are coming through the MK toll plaza to come to our ceremony and through the Epcot plaza to come to our dessert party. I wondered if they would have to pay for parking at either plaza.

We're also having a DP. When we've gone to epcot just for Illuminations, I don't recall there being anybody at the toll plaza. Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly?

does anyone know how long guests can park free, for?
We're having our ceremony at 2:30 and staying in the GF area (1900 PF for dinner etc) until after our Wishes cruise finishes, which will be after 10pm.

When you go through the MK toll plaza you tell them you are going to the wedding pavillion. Parking is free at the WP. For our wedding we had a dessert party and used motorcoaches for the day. Some of our guest who drove parked at the WP for the ceremony and left there car there and hopped on the Motorcoaches to take us to the reception at the ADH and then onto our dessert party at Epcot. When the night was over the Motorcoach drove them back to the WP parking lot.

For our dessert party (which we had the night before our wedding as a welcome party), we met at the International Gateway. We told our guests that weren't planning on spending the day at Epcot to park at the Yacht & Beach Club. We were a little worried the security guard might not let them in to park, but we didn't tell anybody that. Turned out not to be a problem.

That was our orginal plan, but we got worried when our coordinator told us it was risky because the guards now have lists of people who have ADRs each night at the Y&BC restaurants, so if we lied and said we had an ADR we might get caught Plus, a LOT of our guests are staying on site and won't have cars, so they are taking Disney transportation, and I hated to ask them to take the MGM bus, then take the boat to EPCOT. That's a looooooong travel time!


It's good to know that if people are coming in late at night (7:30ish) they probably won't be asked to pay since they're only there for Illuminations. Thanks!!

I'm not sure exactly what our guests told the security guard, but we told them to just say they were there for a dessert party and meeting their party at the International Gateway. Worked for whichever security guard was on duty that night.

My PARENTS, on the other hand, were worried about parking at the Y&BC. So they asked somebody at Shades of Green where they should park. That person told them to park at the Boardwalk. The security guard at that resort told them they couldn't park there and directed them to a nearby parking lot. I'm not familiar with the parking lots since we never drive at Disney so I'm not exactly sure where they were told to park.

But, that will work out great if parking is free. Wish I had known that.
