Question about parking fees at the airport!

We are planning our trip to the world at the end of may, beginning of June, with a side trip to see my sister and her family in Dallas. We were planning to fly out of Nashville, TN with a 49.00 flight on SWA, but for one reason or the other, we let that one slip through our hands. Now we are looking at driving to orlando, then parking our car at the airport and then flying roundtrip on to Dallas, and then driving back from Orlando.

The problem is that the last time we paid for parking at the airport, it would have been cheaper to rent a car, and turn it in instead of parking. Can you help me make this decision?

Can someone tell me what parking rates are, how safe the lots are, and if I could possibly park my car at my disney resort until I return (probably not, but worth a try)?

Thanks in advance!

Normally you may not leave a car at the WDW resort after checkout, but then again a CM might make an exception for you in the form of a parking pass with a later checkout date stamped on it.

Not sure about Orlando Int'l Airport's parking rates but there are long term lots for multi-day trips that cost less than short term lots. There are also private lots, some run by car rental outfits including Payless.

WDW to Payless parking I think is 6 dollars a day -- Carefully follow signs to get on I-4 East. Then change to 528 (Beach line; Bee line). Get off 528 at its exit 9 Tradeport which is 2 miles from airport. Left and cross under, get into middle lane, (for those eavesdropping nice cheap gas station right here, then), required right onto McCoy. Payless is on the left about where you skip the second tollbooth. They'll shuttle you the remaining half mile to Semoran Blvd. and the airport north entrance even if the car is not their rental.
