Question about park tickets and adding water parks later

I just want to make sure that I am understanding tickets and adding the Water Parks Fun + More.

We will probably get 6-day non-hopper tickets. We are planning one non-park day. If the weather seems nice and we decide to give a water park a try, we will add the Water Parks Fun + More and will plan to go to a water park on our non-park day. We will probably make this decision 1 or 2 days into our trip.

1. Is that allowed? 6 days in theme parks + 1 day in water park = 6 day ticket + Water Parks Fun

2. Or is it actually a 7 day ticket that is needed? Because the water park day is considered a day too?

3. Will we be allowed to add the Water Parks Fun + More on to our tickets for the same price as showing on line?

4. Or will we have to buy our water park tickets ala carte, which is more expensive?

Thanks!

It's actually more like

6 days in theme parks
+ 6 entries into water park/mini golf/Disney quest
= 6 day ticket + water park fun & more

If you're only going to the WP one day I think an ala carte ticket is actually cheaper than WPF&M

Ditto.

A single day water park admission was $6 less than adding the option for the length of a ticket.

Yup.

The situation where adding the Water Parks Fun and More option is an outstanding value is if the guest already has Hopper multi-day tickets.
(Unfortunately, the OP only has base tickets.)

To expand on this question. I'm thinking of purchasing 4 day base tickets for my husband and I but only 2 day tickets for my son who may stay with friends a couple of the days we go to the parks , at what point do we need to add days to his ticket if he decides to join us all 4 days and is that still allowed?and at what cost?

ETA also what if he decides he doesn't want to come at all, do they expire, how long?

Upgrade a ticket any time AS EARLY AS after it is used to go into a Theme Park at least one time...
And, AS LATE AS close of business on the same day that the ticket's last asset is used.

Basic rule to figure the cost to upgrade is:
Subtract the price of a new ticket that you HAVE from the cost of a new ticket that you WANT, and pay that difference price for the upgrade.

New, unused MYW tickets remain fresh and ready to use (and/or upgrade) until they are finally used.

Once you first use a ticket, any unused assets will expire 14 days later.

So if he decides to come with us DAY 1 and DAY 3 do we have to add an extra day before we enter the park DAY 3 or can we wait until the end of the day to decide if he wants to come the next day?

Sometime during Day 3 will be fine, as that is the day on which the ticket's last asset is used.

Hi,

OP here...I now see that if we have base tickets and only want to go to a water park for one day, we should just buy a 1-day ticket to a water park. But if we have park hopper tickets, then adding the Water Parks Fun + More is a better deal.

Thank you for pointing that out to me!

So I think we will get 6-day base tickets (without hoppers) and either add another park day or a water park for our 7th day, depending on the weather and what we decide to do. Thanks everyone!
