Hi,

We will be in DisneyWorld from 8/24-9/2 and we want to go to US/IOA for a couple days, either during our stay or possibly a couple days before 8/24. Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like in US/IOA during this time? We are thinking of staying onsite AT DISNEY the entire trip and driving over on the couple visits to US/IOA...how important would it be for us to have the express tickets for the attractions at US/IOA during this time?

I'm hoping that if it's a slower time at Disney, the same holds for US/IOA and we don't need to purchase the express tickets!

Thanks in advance for any/all info!

It will still be crowded since a lot families are still on vacation but it shouldn't be packed. The Express Passes aren't too expensive that week ranging from $19.99 to $25.99 depending on the day. You could always wait and see if you need them. If you get there at opening, you should be able to do some of the bigger rides before the crowds arrive.

We were there last August in that time frame and I found the parks weren't too bad until about 1-2 pm. We got there when the park opened and got on all the must do rides first. By about 11 am lines were starting to form for the more popular rides (15-20 min). By noon the lines were about 30-40 min., by 1 pm they were about an hour and by 2 pm they were well over an hour to an hour and half. We left at that point, went back to our villa for a swim, rest and something to eat and came back at night (5 pm). Lines at night were longer than they are first thing in the morning, but a bit more manageable (20-45 min).
