My family will be in the parks in just a few short weeks :woohoo: !!! Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it would be worth bringing the Pal Mickey we bought on a previous trip. I know we'd have to have it "updated", but are people still using them down there? :confused3 Thanks for any info you might have!! :flower3:

I just read on these boards that Pal Mickey will be discontinued after current inventory is sold. Don't know the timeframe or how it impacts those already sold. Sorry!

I haven't seen Pal Mickey in the park for quite some time. I haven't heard anything about it being discontinued, but I wouldn't be surprised. Does anyone have any confirmed info as to whether it's being discontinued or not?

I hope that PAL will still work in the parks for years to come. Or what a waste of $65!! Our son loved PAL on his lap shaking .. our son got it on his Make A Wish trip and that was his BIG gift. Bummer if they do away with it. PAL is a gift that keeps on giving at home and at Disney.
I will be watching and listening:)
LOVE DIS boards

We bought a Pal Mickey in 2004 on our honeymoon. He has made several trips to the parks and has worked everytime. In the info I read today, it says Pal Mickey will continue to work in the parks, they just will not be selling them anymore. On our most recent trip Mickey was a little confused at times about which park he was in, but he played a wide range of games back at the hotel that he had never done before.

I took mine along on our trip over the summer. He did spend more time in the hotel then he did in the park because of Tropical Storm Faye. Although he didn't require any "updating" it did take him a couple of minutes to start working once we got into the Magic Kingdom. Sorry to hear they are discontinuing him. If I had know that I would have picked him up some more outfits while we were there.

I hope he will still be working in 2010 when I go again.

I adore my Pal Mickey, and am really sad they're doing away with them. I assume that means there won't be any new tips and hints and jokes... He's such a great conversation piece while standing in line, and one time I had a great time on the ME bus to my Resort, letting the child with Downs Syndrome sitting behind me play games with him, and listen to his jokes. He was so thrilled & enraptured playing with Mickey...

Sayhello

We just got our pal mickey in off ebay. We are looking forward to taking him into the parks to see what all he will do. He will be a birthday gift for my son's 3rd birthday spent at disney

i love my pal mickey - i got him for my birthday i august and had great fu with him. I will deff be picking up some outfits when im out next, just in case!!!!!! pluto:

We gifted ours to a newlywed couple on the last day of our trip last fall. And while I wish I could have a Pal with me on the next trip, I don't want to invest a third time in a Pal who won't work in the future (we don't know when, but you know eventually they won't upkeep the IR spots any more). *sigh* RIP Pal!
