I am looking for airfare for November. The cheapest I am finding is flying out of Raleigh/Durham NC. That would mean driving 2-3 hours, but saving 200-300.00 per ticket. Anyway, my question is this. They are giving me a flight down on Delta and the return flight on United. Will this cause problems as if we are on a 1-way ticket? I am thinking of security concerns w/ all the new regulations out.

TIA! :sunny:

You *might* have one or all of your party tagged for additional screening by TSA at the security checkpoint. Seriously, it literally may add an additional 10 minutes to your time in terminal. And not a big deal.

My 7YO DS was flagged on both legs of our trip this past February (2 one way tickets, but on the same airline). The TSA agents were GREAT, and it was not a big deal, and I got to stay with him the whole time.

I think with so many airlines issueing one way tickets, a one way passenger is not quite the red flag they used to be.

If it's worth saving that much, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Good Luck

I have another question about this airfare. Is $191.00 a good deal from Raleigh/Durham to MCO? It would be 400.00 if we went from our local airport, so I know it is a good deal that way. It will cost us about $500.00 more flying vs. driving, considering all (driving costs, rental car, motel room, etc.). We could just as well drive, but DS(5) has never flown and is facinated w/ planes and comparing a short flight to a 12 hour drive sounds real good! I don't know which would be worse on Thanksgiving weekend- driving or flying? We would fly back on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but driving would take Saturday and Sunday. I be traffic would be soooo bad that weekend!

Any other advice on this?
