sorry, I know this has been talked about a million times, but it's confusing. I swear I saw in one post that you canNOT put in specific requests, and then I saw in another that you CAN. So do they give you space to put in a request? I want to request a certain building(s), and top floor, and also want to put in a reminder that my res. is linked with another res. so we want to be as close as possible. Am I able to put all those requests in online?

I always do on line check in. 10 days ahead. Once u do the check in they will ask for special request. I always call them and talk to a cm in person and have them put it in for me. I always get what i want that way. The cm seem to be able to put the request in better and more than one.

You can add specific room requests onto your reservation by calling at any time. You can do online check in 10 days prior to your trip, but there are very limited options for room requests online (it is a drop down menu of two or three items). If you have specifics, just call.

so if you put your requests in via phone, then when you do online check-in, your requests are still noted?

Yes, doing online check-in doesn't erase any existing request notes on the reservation. Your requests will still be there.

I would definitely call to make your requests. The online check-in form seems to usually have only a few checkboxes for common requests, a text box to enter your own requests appears from time to time, but it's not always there. And there's no way to link reservations on that form, anyway. The only way to do that is over the phone.

As others have said, yes you can make requests. HOwever, if you do online checkin you are supposed to take the room they assigned to you regardless if the requests are met or not.

10 days out you can check in. I did mine yesterday. (Should have done it Sunday, but I had too much going on!)

Although there was a drop down to put in requests for specific buildings/pack and play, etc., when I checked my 2 requests off, it "couldn't process my request". I called the 407-WDW-Disney number and the CM was helpful. Still couldn't add my requests, but after talking with her, I'm pretty confident that we'll get what we'd like.

No worries here . . . its a Disney Vacation. Not too worried about the room! :rotfl:

You should call in your requests. But - remember, they are only requests. They are not guaranteed. I would say from your OP that your linked request will more than likely be honored. Then from there, I'd say your next request would be a certain building and then the next one would be top floor. That's kind of specific and if you think about your resort, the time of year, and when people are checking in and checking out and how you wouldn't want to move to another room, you are getting specific.

The point is - I don't think you are going to get everything you want.

Think about what makes you the happiest, live with that, make the request and move on.

Why not? Maybe she will.. Sometimes people get everything.. One can hope, think positive, and if she doesn't get everything, at least she tried and I am sure she will not suffocate and have a nightmare if she doesn't get everything she asked for. Btw.. for all the stays I've had, I had all my request granted... even to the room #!! If I didn't get that room, I wouldn't have cried over it.

To the OP.. I hope you get everything you want, or most of it. If you're not happy with your room location, it won't hurt to ask if there are other options. Good luck! Have fun! :)

i called and put the requests in, I just didn't know if doing online check in you had to reiterate your requests. We booked preferred so whatever bldg. we get won't be bad. Now I'm thinking I should take out the request for the specific building b/c then they'll be more likely to grant the top floor request. Oy, so much to obsess over, lol. :rolleyes1

(i'm probably way overthinking this). I read that when you do O/L check in they assign your room at that time from whatever rooms are available at the time you do the O/L check-in...... so in that case, seeing as this next week is one of the busiest weeks of the year - pretty much 10s across the board at all parks - and all the resorts are presumably at capacity or close to it....... then I should NOT do my on-line check any time during this upcoming week b/c there may not be any rooms available that fit all my requests. So if I wait until the resorts clear out the following week (1 or 2 days before we arrive) to do the online check in, I have a better chance of getting all my requests. Right? :thumbsup2

Sorry to take over this thread, but it brought up a question I have. We are going to POFQ this May. We have two rooms that are "guaranteed connecting" for our family of 6 (DH and I and our 4 kids under 10). I have learned on these boards that there is no "real" guarantee. That is where my question comes in. We are flying in at 9pm, so we won't be checking in until late (10:30 maybe). Should I do online check in, or am I at risk of not getting my connecting rooms then? Just unsure. I called the CM and asked and he just kept saying I am guaranteed connecting and not to worry about it. He even said Disney wants to keep families together, but reading the DIS boards has me nervous about this request. I really would hate to have DH and I spit and also split up the kids for our entire vacation. So which way am I more likely to have my connecting rooms? Online check in, or waiting until I show up late at night? Thanks

I can't remember the exact requests that can be entered when doing online check-in; seems like maybe hand-capped or special access & not much else. There wasn't a place to put in specific buildings or room types. Like others have posted, we called and had specific buildings and rooms requests attached and always got what we requested.

I have learned that when requesting a king-bed that if a tub is priority, I need to request that as well. Changes can be made when checking in at the resort; it is helpful to use online check-in to get a shorter line depending on when arriving to check in at the resort.:thumbsup2
