Question about old park tickets

I have several old tickets each with a few admissions left. I called and got the details of what is left on each one, so that part is all good. My question is this; two of the five tickets were issued without the users name printed on them, one in January of '03 the other in Oct of '05. How do I know if they are tied to a fingerprint and if so, whose? I am trying to by just what I need for this trip, as we are a party of ten and my costs are enormous.

Thanks, Robo. That helps a lot. One other question for you. I have a 7 day hopper bought through a discounter. I need to upgrade it to an 8 day. Do I understand the cost of upgrade is simply the difference between the current disney price of the two?

Yes...

BUT-

Believe it or not, WAIT until after you have used the ticket, at least at one park on one day.

Yes, you can add any upgrade (extra days, water-parks, non-expire, Annual Pass) once you've started using it, even to a fully "used up" ticket, as long as it's within the first 14 days of its first use.

It can save you money to do so.

If you try to upgrade BEFORE you use it, you will be up-charged to the current gate-rate for the ticket, plus the upgrade cost. Its because it is considered a TRADE-IN, if the ticket was never used.

Just go on into the park that first day.
When you are ready for a little break, stroll over to Guest Relations in that park and upgrade your ticket.

If you do the upgrade prior to using a day off the ticket, you will only be credited the cost you paid the discounter. If you use a day or two on the ticket, and then ask them to do the upgrade, you should be credited the current gate cost of the ticket. Know the price you expect to pay in advance as some CM's don't always do the current gate cost credit. I believe the correct term is "bridging"

One note, a hopper manufactured before 2005 cannot be upgraded although it can still be traded in for approximately what you paid if it is unused or of course used as-is.

If your older ticket was used without finger scanning in the past, it will acquire finger scanning upon its next usage. No special treatment is needed for tickets with working magnetic stripes.
