Question about old Park Hopper Tickets

My brother gave me some of his old park hoppers which still have days on them. Back when he used them the biometric (that's what it's called, right?) system was not in effect. Now my question is when I use these tickets will I have to put my fingers through the machine, or am I exempt from doing this since I'm using older tickets? Do I inform the CM at the entrance that these are old park hoppers or does it matter? Thanks!!!

You do not need to tell the cms the type of ticket you are using. Just slide the card and you won't have a problem. We have also used and still have some left overs. Most of them just have plusses - they do not expire. We are getting ready for next year and have already purchased 3 10 day MYW tickets - need two buy two more 10 day or two PAPs - not sure yet.

I believe you will have to use the biometric scan even for old tickets. So, at the point you do this, you are the only one who will be able to use the ticket again.

All tickets require the ticket tagging now. So if you use the old tickets they "belong" to the person that inserted their fingers.

This changed in June 2005. Not more sharing the tickets.

If you used tickets before 6/2005, does that mean they are not biometrically "marked"? We bought and used park hoppers back in 2004 and have 3 tickets with one day each left on them. We have MYW passes for our upcoming trip, but have some friends who may be in town for a conference and I was going to give them these old tickets so they could spend an evening with us. Will this work?

They haven't been ticket tagged yet. If they have more than a day then they will be the only ones that could use the tickets. With one day left you don't have to worry about.

This may be kind of a stupid question...but we have multiple old hoppers some with 1 day, some with 2 and some with 3 days....I marked the days on the fronts of the tickets so I know which ones have what left....but how the heck am I supposed to keep up with which kid enters the park with which pass each day?? Do the biometrics even work on the old hoppers or do they just have you run through them to make you think they do??

Biometrics or ticket tagging works. You can write their name on the tickets. That is what they have you do with the newer tickets.
