Question about OKW

Hi everyone,

My nieces and their families are thinking of going to OKW, I stayed there a while ago, but they had a couple of questions that I don't remember the answers to. I hope you can help me/them

1. Does old key west have an entertainment/activity room for the kids

2. Does okw have a connecting bridge to downtown Disney like Saratoga

OKW has a community hall with games and such. You can get to DTD by foot, bus, and boat. It's not as close as SSR and the path isn't lit at night, so not a great idea. I've heard it's about a 20 min walk.

I've not experienced staying there, but have researched it for a future trip.

It is possible to walk to Disney Springs, but generally not advised. It simply isn't as close or as well lit as the path from Saratoga. The boat is a better option from OKW.

Even though VWL is our DVC home, we prefer to stay at OKW simply because of the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. I enjoy the 12 minute boat ride to Disney Springs and from the looks on many of the kids on the boat, they seem to enjoy it also but depending on where you are staying at OKW the time from your room to Disney Springs can be a long trip. I also would not advise someone with kids to make the trek to DS from OKW and I would not advise anyone to make the walk at night.

We are here now and we usually carch the boat or bus to DS, I wouldn't walk as it's an isolated path.

It's a great resort, this is our 5th christmas here and we love it. The rooms are huge, the pool area is great and the whole ambience is welcoming and relaxed. They have a community hall and pool activities all afternoon. Yesterday some of the characters came to reception for a meet and greet in their christmas jumpers. We wouldn't be anywhere else at this time of year. Merry christmas everyone!
