Are the internal buses different busses then the ones that go to the parks? If so, are they marked as such? We requested close to HH for our upcoming stay because we spend a lot of time at the resort. But if we get a room further away I'd like to understand the bus system better. TIA:)

All OKW buses stop at the HH before they leave the resort for the parks or DTD. I have seen the ones marked internal but don't know if they run all the time or only during certain hours. If you are at the HH and want to get back to South Point, Turtle Pond etc you can walk across to the Peninsular stop and get on any bus there and then get off at your stop.

As castleri indicated, you can use the park buses to get around OKW. Which is good, because as far as we can tell the internal bus runs pretty infrequently. I wouldn't worry about being far from the HH if that happens. You will always be within a fairly short distance to a bus stop so you can utilize the park buses to get to HH easily.

Getting back to your room is a little less convenient. The walk that castleri described from HH to Peninsular Road bus stop is not far (by WDW park-walking standards!) but it is not particularly close either...especially on hot summer days!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Still, getting around the resort is not a problem. Go ahead and ask to be near the HH, but don't be disappointed if they can't accommodate you. Good luck, and enjoy the resort! :)

The internal bus is one of the DtD busses. It makes the the loop to DtD, but then stops at HH first as it enters OKW, and again before it leaves for DtD. It can be a fairly lng wait for the internal, and is usually faster to walk over to the Peninsular Road bus stop.
