Okay, we're down to less than two weeks before we leave for DW. YAY!!! But I decided I wanted to try to get an Ohanas reservation. However, the only one they had for the day we could go was at 9:30pm. Is this too late? Will food quality be as good? Hopefully the kids won't be completely worn out at that time. I think Ohanas would be a fun experience for them. What do you all think? My kids are 8, 5 and 3. Thanks!
God bless,
Amanda

It's too late to eat for us. My kids are usually too konked out by 9:30pm for dinner at a restaurant. I never make dinner ressies for that late at night. Enjoy your trip! :)

I loved Ohanas. Our reservation was at 8pm. My niece (7yrs) fell asleep in the lobby while we were waiting for our table and my dd (3yrs) fell asleep at the table. The older one woke up and did enjoy herself but they were exhausted. I suppose it depends on your kids though.

We've gone that late before, and it was fine. Food quality is the same, but the kids will be tired, you will be tired, but you may just be winding down at that point and can enjoy dinner... The food is great, so you won't want to miss it.

Don't let them forget to give you the dipping sauces! Everytime that we are there late they forget to offer them and you have to ask.

And do the luau, it's fun!

Personally after a day of park touring I would not subject young kids to a 9:30 dinner reservation...if they don't eat at 9:30 at home, they're certainly not going to be able to do it after a day running around theme parks.

It really bothers me to see exhausted little ones melting down, no fault of their own, because their parents are keeping them up beyond all endurance.

Since you asked, I would choose another night for 'Ohana or a restaurant where a much earlier time is available.

My 3 would probably be asleep after being at the parks all day! We ran into to the same problem with Ohana. Couldn't get a reservation till 9:30pm. I laughed when the CM told me that on the phone because I knew my kids would never make it. Soooo, we opted for Kona Cafe for dinner (we were staying at the Polynesian and called from our room) instead. I will say that another night I wanted to eat at Ohana too but same problem. So, we went to the Tambu Lounge for drinks and appetizers. Our waiter was so sweet and asked us if we were eating at Ohana that night. I said no, we couldn't get in till 9:30. He said wait a second, went into the restaurant and came back with a pager!! Wasn't that nice? We were thrilled and DH slipped him a $20 just for getting us in. We really enjoyed our meal there but I wouldn't have eaten there had it been the 9:30pm reservation. My kids are usually in bed by 7:30-8 at home. When were at Disney World, they barely made it back to the hotel and crashed into bed, asleep by 9:00 at the latest! Can't really blame them though, my DH and myself were fast asleep by 10!! My opinion, it's too late for my kids but maybe yours are different! HTH! :goodvibes :goodvibes
