Question about Oct Dland trip???? please help!

I'm trying to plan a trip for my family. my sisters family plus my parents (12 people)...

I keep trying to get quotes for just a room at a time on disneyland.com and it says the dates I want are all booked for the disneyland hotel?

Oct 6th-9th

Is that a busy time? I thought it wouldn't be too bad since it is during the week and in Oct?

What am I missing?

I know a lot of public schools have fall break at that time all over the country. Also, maybe the 5 for 3 deal caused it to be sold out.

We are going in October and from my research and info from members on this board that the first two weeks are busy.

October is a busy month these days due to Fall breaks and the Halloween decor/festivities at the parks.

Most fall breaks will be over by October 18th, although Salt Lake City is off until October 24th.

I would check dates later in the month. Try the week of Oct 19-24. You should be able to find rooms at the Disneyland Resort hotels that week.

You can always check the convention center calendar to see what's going on in the area too....but Gay Days happens around that time so maybe that's it? You could check their site for dates and planned events too....

That's what I was thinking. I seem to remember Gay days being around 10/5 this coming year.

Gay Days is Oct 2-4 this year.

Utah's Education Assoc. Convention is Oct 1 & 2 (no school), so many Utah families will be there Oct 1-4.
