Question about number of years on contracts

I've heard that all DVC contracts end in 2042, regardless of when and from whom purchased...so if we buy a BWV resale, does it still end in 2042? Does that mean the original buyer of that contract actually had more than 40 years on his contract?

Or are we essentially buying into a "new" contract with DVC, and that's why there's 40 years left?

Everything ends in 2042, period.

There is now less than 40 years left. The number of years is just one way to express the duration of the program, but everything ends on Jan. 31, 2042- regardless when it was purchased or from whom.

Those who purchased in 1991 had a full 50+ years, those who purchase now have less than 40.
