I am thinking about planning a November trip for next year. We usually go June-July every year, but I want to try it in "cooler" weather! Anyway, as a teacher, I am limited with when I can go. I know that others have said the week of Thanksgiving is very crowded, but what about if we went Friday after Thanksgiving for about a week?? It gets less crowded, right? But my biggest question is... Are most of the Christmas decos up then? I know years ago when we went they were, and the parades were all holiday related too. I really want for my family to see Disney at Christmas :santa: , as I did as a child. Any info will be appreciated!!

My family went in 2002 the week after Thanksgiving. We really enjoyed everything. Decorations were up,we went to the MVMCP and really enjoyed that. The weather was great not too cold . We wore jackets a couple of days. We wore them in the mornings then had to take them off. It was crowded. It was nice. We are going this year the week of Thanksgiving and I'm worried my family won't enjoy it as much, because of the crowds.I will have a good time no matter how many are there. I have 6 days to take my time. Have a good time .

This is our first time going the week of Thanksgiving! We usually go the week AFTER Thanksgiving, and it is really great!!!!

From what I've read on several threads, the week of Thanksgiving is OK crowd wise - it starts getting crowded the day before Thanksgiving, as well as, of course, Thanksgiving Day. We will be arriving late on Nov 15, and we'll be leaving on Nov 21 (the day before T-Day). So I'm hoping we'll be fine. We just did two weeks at Disney including the week of July 4th - we had a great time!!!!

Just hoping for some nice, cool weather!!!!!

We were there for the 4th this year too! Now that was crowded! But I didn't mind. The humidity is what got me! That is why I am looking forward to booking in the fall, for just a change! Thanks for the info!

I think November is a GREAT time to go!! We have been there once before in November and it was GREAT. A little crowded but not too bad. The weather was good also. We actually were able to go swimming one day. At night it does cool down quite a bit, but still did not need a jacket. Sweatshirt and jeans was perfect. We are going again this year in November. You also HAVE to go to the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!!!!:cool1: They have a GREAT Christmas parade and there is an additional charge to attend so the crowds are minimal. Happy trip planning!!!:woohoo:

We'll be there the week after Thanksgiving this year - arriving 11/24 thru 30th. I'm hoping most of the thanksgiving week crowds will be gone. I've gone a few times the first week of Dec. and it's been fine. Christmas decorations are definitely up! I think the first MVMCP is 11/14. Osborne lights will be up in MGM and I believe the Candlelight Processional at Epcot is also starting that weekend.
Now that I think of it - in 2002, we were there over Veteran's Day (11/11); went to bed one night - no decorations; woke up the next morning, the whole resort was decorated!

We're going the week after Thanksgiving too, but we're skipping Saturday. According to all the research that I've done they say that Saturday is very busy then the crowds leave on Sunday and it's very nice the rest of the week.

The week after Thanksgiving is a great time to go. We're checking in on the Saturday after turkey day. We always go at this time of year. It's great. The Christmas decorations are up and the holiday feeling is everywhere. You can never tell about the weather, some cool nights, some cold nights and some very hot days. Already have my tickets for MVMCP. We go every year. I love it. We check-in in 58 days! Yea!:yay: :yay: :yay:

I'm going with my woman friend for 6 days in November from Monday the 5th and leaving Saturday the 10th. Is there any reason to believe it would be crowded? I was assuming it wouldn't be then.

Jersey week is sometime around then. It may start the week after you leave though. Super Soap Weekend is Nov. 10-11 and food and wine festival is going on at Epcot. I will be there 8-13! I can't wait!!!:cool1: :)

I've gone numerous times for Thanksgiving week and have managed very well. Decorations are up before Thanksgiving. With FP, a touring plan and ADR's we did absulutely everything we intended to do. Didn't miss a thing and the crowd doesn't bother us because we're just sticking to our plan or on our way to meet a FP time. I think you'll really enjoy it. Have a wonderful time!

u are in Jersey week.........super soap weekend ... and food and wine........its a busy week with spectacular weather, bring a sweatshirt and pants for cool mornings and eves, u will have a blast!;) Go and enjoy!:thumbsup2

We are arriving in Orlando Thanksgiving day, but since we have 10 days and want to do some non-Disney things, I thought we might not hit Disney until maybe Sunday or Monday. I also added the water park option, hoping it would be warm enough to go sometime while we're there. Anyone have any experience with that?
I can't wait!!!

We've done the post-Thanksgiving trip, too, and while that first weekend was pretty crowded, by Monday is was wonderful. Fewer people, great weather and the decorations are up and beautiful! It's a GREAT time to go!
