So I made all our ADRs online for our trip in a couple weeks. I checked gluten allergy for each ADR, but 3 of the 5 of us have a gluten allergy (myself and both DS) so I'm wondering if I should call and have that noted or if it will be fine. I know they should have no problem doing GF stuff, but I'm not sure if because there are several of us needing GF if they need to know that ahead of time?

Thanks!

I think they do need to know that it is more than one of you. If you contact special diets, they will send you a form that you can fill out with all the allergy needs for your party.

Great! I will do that. Thank you!!

Gluten is a common allergen, so there's no need to contact Special Diets. They aren't as helpful as they used to be and will probably just email you a canned response. If a person has more than 3 allergies or uncommon allergies, Special Diets should email you a form and forward that information to the various restaurants since more pre-planning may be required. They don't need to know exactly how many in a party have a particular allergy. The Disney TS restaurants are well-prepared to deal with the common allergies. My kids each have 3 different common food allergies. We note them on the ADRs and haven't bothered contacting Special Diets in the past couple years. The chef comes to the table and asks who has what allergies, lets them know what's safe, writes down their choices, then has the waitperson take everyone else's orders. Chefs have always been helpful, sometimes even going an extra step to make things special for my kids.

Gluten is a common allergy, but the special diets form had a section where you can fill out the allergy information for up to 4 guests on your reservation. I would still contact special diets because it's so many of you. The worst they will do is tell you that you didn't need to contact them. No harm done.

The request from Special Diets is for notification if any one person in your party has 4 or more allergies. You can have a table full of guests with a single allergy and they won't want notification other than the note on your ADR. Fixing gluten free food for 3 people at one table is no different than fixing gluten free food for 1 person at three tables. They're used to cooking gluten free food and won't do anything differently.

I agree that there's no harm in contacting them. The criteria for sending further info will be in the response you get and you'll also be sent any documents that they have regarding gluten free foods around WDW. I'm just saying that your restaurant experience will be identical with or without contating Special Diets so do not feel obligated to do so and don't be surprised or disappointed if get nothing more than a cookie cutter response.

has anyone got a telephone number or preferably email for special diet.As one of our party is allergic to gluten, wheat and dairy.

another member has allergy to gluten/wheat/dairy and egg and vegetarian to

There is no longer a phone number listed by WDW for special dietary needs and they suggest, on their website, that you mention your needs when making your reservation. There is also a place to indicate allergies on the on line reservation forms. We were at WDW a few years ago with someone with gluten intolerance and did no pre-contact other than noting it on the reservation for each table service nd reminding them when we checked in ; she just spoke with someone at each place.
If you have more complex allergies, they do request you contact them at least 14 days in advance.

I have multiple food allergies. On our last trip to WDW, chefs at two table service restaurants noted that their sole job during their shift was to work with customers with food allergies. My point being that there are more people with food allergies than you might think! I was surprised. We only do table service b/c of my significant number of food allergies and I have always have excellent experiences. I also fill out the form mentioned in other posts.
