Question about New Years Eve at Universal

I have been thinking about trying this out one year. I have heard horror stories about Disney around New Year's. That the parks are a mad house and what not. I would like to know if anyone has been at Universal at New Years and how is the attendance there that day? Also if anyone has attended any of the parties there or been at city walk at all and enjoyed it.

Also a side question but I read that universal now offers a shuttle to resorts for $35 round trip. Has anyone done this yet and if so how good is it? Thanks in advance.

My daughter and I were at UO over New Years and we have a lot of fun. We stayed at the PBH. On NYE day the parks were very manageable and we used express with little wait. On Dec. 28/29 the crowds were high and even express had long waits. I was amazed how things slowed down on NYE! Even NY day was good with little to no wait for express. As far as the parties on NYE...we did the luau at the RP and that was nice but it did not last until midnight. We got party favors though. All resorts have parties, all a bit pricey but they included dinner. At our resort the part was was at the harbor.
We did not do the City Walk party(but would have if daughter had been 21). I hope to do that next year if we make it back! It seemed crowded around CW though but it did look like a lot of fun!
