Question about name on MB

I realize that this has probably been covered but doing a search on MB and you get QUITE a few threads to read through, so please forgive me the shortcut.

My wife's name is Mary Elizabeth and all her travel documents reference her as Mary. She actually goes by Libby and prefers that. If I change her name from Mary to Libby, do you think that will be a problem for her? A friend who has used the MB's says no, but I just want to ask others to confirm.

No - you can put Smelly on it and no one would blink (I used that as an example because that's our pet-name for DD, because she can smell anything... it's all in good fun!). I don't think anyone else even sees it, as it's printed on the inside, and if they are being worn, it won't be seen.

Also, the names printed are not "official" by any means... A person named William could certainly choose to put Bill on his, or Dopey, Gamer, Dad, Brother, or ROCKSTAR!

When you customize the MagicBands, you can put almost any name you want. That name is only printed on the inside (skin side) of the MagicBand and not used any where else. Her profile should have her name as on her travel documents.

I wouldn't change anything on the travel documents at this point because that would lead to headache but you can customize the MB with anything you like, even something silly.

The name you put on the band is only to help you keep bands straight without having to memorize serial numbers. When a band is scanned, the name that pops up on the screen is the name of the person in MDE, not what was on the band.

I have my name, my initials, Mom, and Mommy on different bands that I own. My daughter had us put Hermione on her band from our last trip. On the AP bands that I just ordered my kids had Lily and James put on their bands--for Lily and James Potter. LOL. There names are not, and in face are nowhere near, Lily or James.

Last time we went my DS was in a make-your-own superhero phase. So his magic band referred to him as "Hurricane".

No, I wouldn't change anything on travel docs, but just now changed her name. Easy enough!

As others have said, the names you choose to have printed in your magic bands are completely up to you, and are solely for figuring out which band belongs to which person in your party.

For my next trip, I'm T-Bear, my daughter is Maddypie and my wife Corrine is Corqueen.

I agree with the other posters - the name on the Magic Bands can be anything. We've never (we have 5 sets of MB) used our own names - the bands we just got read Badger, FoxTiffen and Citizen. The ones we have on order for our May trip read R2-D2, Yoda and Ahsoka.

On a personal note my favorite great aunt was named Elizabeth but always went by Libby

Ditto. Let's see - I've been Valjean, Tigrius, Daddy, Nice Man, Abraham, and Subdeacon. Can't recall what all my wife has used - Galinda, Sarah, Tryphon, That Lady, and a handful more.
