Ok so last night I saw the commericial with the cute little puppies at the airport getting their luggage ( those dogs are so darn cute...) but anyways... id seen the commericial like a million times before but I noticed something for the first time last night on the bottom corner it says ...blah blah blah... at select disney resorts only...blah blah.... now my question is... what resorts? im going to disney in October and was looking forward to not having to pay mears and im stayin at Fort Wilderness campground.... Does anyone know what resorts are going to be apart of this??

I am not completely sure, but I think it is for all WDW resorts,so you should be fine at FW.Perhaps they used the term "select" to exclude Swan and Dolphin,Shades of Green and the DTD hotels.I am looking forward to using this service as well-especially not having to handle my bags.I think it will kind of make the "WDW Experience" begin once aboard the Disney bus at OIA. :earsboy:

You do not need to book a Magic Your Way package for the free Disney airport transportation, any Disney resort reservation, any (or no advance purchase) kind of admission ticket, and any (or no) meal plan is OK.

You do need a ten day advance reservation for the transportation.

We're staying at ASMo May 23-30 and when we called for our reservations, they booked us for this. So I know it includes the Value resorts! Therefore, the banana must dance:

I think the language "select Disney resorts" is legalise so they can name the hotels that get the benefit. At least that's my guess. The EMH language is exactly the same - that benefit is for "select Disney resorts". The thing is, there are a number of hotels that might represent themselves as being on Disney property, or close, so they want the language to be in place for any confusion that might arise (again, my guess). With the Bonnett Creek resort coming and the thing with the Swan and Dolphin, maybe that's what they're thinking.

That's exactly what they're doing. They use "Walt Disney World Hotels" to mean those that are ON the property. They don't mean "selected Walt Disney World OWNED and OPERATED resorts".

So if you're at a Disney-owned hotel, you're good!

Others are correct...Swan/Dolphin and SoG, and DTD hotels, while on Disney property, are not included in the DME perk. They are not owned and run by Disney. So, call Disney and book your transport to and from the airport!!!

I was hoping thats what that meant but it did give me a little bit of a
"OMG" what do they mean?"

Thanks all! 196 days to go!

WEll crapola. I have just a room only reservation so I would not be eligible - am I understanding that correct??

Bummer. Can someone remember the prices of any other way to get from the airport to the resort area. Ballpark price??

That is incorrect... You are eligible. It does not matter if you are on a package, it does not matter if you are booked room only, if you are staying at a Disney owned and operated resort you CAN use the DME service. It is a free service to everyone for the first 18 months...the only restriction is that you have to be staying at a Disney owned resort (so as others said, The Swan/Dolphin, Shades of Green, Bonnett Creek and the Hotel Plaza hotels are not included even though they are within the property as they are not "owned" by Disney).

It is my understanding that the Bonnet Creek resort is not "officially" on Disney property like Swan and Dolphin,Shades of Green and the DTD hotels are.Is this correct? Thanks. :)

Yes and no... No it is not "officially" on Disney property as it was a piece of land that Disney did not own, but it is situated right in between the backside of the Caribbean Beach and Pop Century and the only way to get to the entrance is on Disney property...

Diid I just see in the commercial that it says a 10 night minimum stay required or am I losing it ? It was the last of the small words under where it says about the select Disney resorts

No,it is my understanding there is no minimum stay required to take advantage of DME.You only have to stay at a Disney owned and operated resort. :)

We're staying 7 nights in late May and we have this arranged--so I guess there's not a 10 day minimum (I HOPE!~!!)
