My Dog has started shaking. It's weird. It's almost like she is cold and has the chills or nervous. Has anyone ever dealt with this? She seems normal in every other aspect just shakes.

She is a Shih Tzu and about 5 years old if that helps.

Are you sure it's shivering and not a mild seizure. How long does the shaking last? Does she seem normal afterwards?
I had an epilieptic Golden, when his seizures first started he would stand there and shake like he was afraid of something.

When my dog hurt her hip she would look at us, feeling sorry for herself and shake. Are you sure she's not in any pain?

I don't think that she is in any pain. Like I said, she is normal in every other way. She's spunky as a matter of fact. But it's so odd. Sometimes she will shake when she is curled up in a little ball on her giant pillow. Other times she will be pawing at us to pet her when she is shaking.

It's weird. I'm going to take her in to the vet on Monday to see if they can run some tests on her, or just check her out. Hopefully they will let me know something.

She usually will stop shaking if you start talking to her or pet her. Like at lunch she was laying next to me and she started to shake so I said, "what's wrong Tess?" and she started to paw at me so I could pet her. I don't know what it is. We shall see.

A couple of years ago, my golden was shaking so badly the vet thought he had been hit by a car. But there was no way, he had been in the house all day while we were gone. They did xrays and it turned out, he had eaten 4 little rocks, and they were trying to make their way out. It was hurting so much apparently, that it was making him shake. He wasn't whining or anything, just shaking.

Get some blood work done, my be a diabetic dog. Let's hope not. I hope he/she is feeling better soon..

One of my dogs does the same thing, and it sometimes gets worse and my dad said that he just had a heartattack. Bring your dog to the vet, and see what he says.

I agree....see what the vet says. Could be pain...dogs are very pain tolerant and will "grin and bear it" as long as possible.

Be on the safe side.
