Question about MVMCP???

Ok, I have already bought tickets for MVMCP for 12/11 for DS's 5th Birthday. We have a PS at LTT for 5:15.

We are arriving at the Mouse House on 12/4 and not going to any parks that day. I was originally going to get PS for Chef Mickey's and just wander around that night. However, I am starting to think that maybe we should do a MVMCP our arrival night, that way the kids get to go to Magic Kingdom their first night there AND we then get to MVMCP's out of this trip.

My question is, is Crystal Palace open for dinner prior to MVMCP? I know that only LTT is accepting PS this early, but will Crystal Palace be open for dinner (like 5 or 5:30) at the 60 day mark; or is LTT the only restaurant open during MVMCP?

I am thinking that it would be nice to already be in the park when MVMCP starts, but would really rather eat at Chef Mickey's our first night. What do you all think???

CP is definitely open party nights at 60 days out and I believe the Castle opens up too...plus fast food.

beattyfamily is correct. CP and CRT are both open the nights of MVMCP. You just can't make a PS until 60 days out.

Thanks all! I was hoping that was the case. I guess it would be better to already be in the park for MVMCP than to eat at Chef Mickey's and come in with the masses! Is that correct as well???

I guess it depends on when you want to be in the park for the party...before the park closes...they let party people in usually after 4:00p with just the MVMCP ticket??

Or do you want to be in the back of the park when the party starts?

Or you could eat early enough at Chef Mickey's to get to MK right before it closes or be one of the first in when it opens.

I've done both and now prefer being in the park already when it closes...then I'm in the back away from the Main street crowds...I don't do the first parade so that's good for me. I head right to the closest photo stand and get that over with and then go from there.

But if you are going to do the first parade and want to see Main Street all decorated and the snow falling then maybe you should eat elsewhere and arrive when the party starts...

It's up to you what you'd prefer.

Having recently traveled with younger children in early December(at the time, ages 5 and 16 months), my advice is to carefully consider your decision to attend MVMCP on your arrival day. Even though my 5 year old nephew had a good long nap and was very excited to be at the party, he just couldn't make it much past 9 p.m. I think we underestimated how tiring all the walking would be for him even though we did get a stroller for him. His Dad had to take him and his little brother back to the room right after the first parade and fireworks (which he slept through). It was either that or push two sleeping kids around in strollers for the rest of the evening.

Since traveling can be hard on all of us, make sure you will all be thoroughly rested before you go to dinner and the party. Based on my experience, I think I'd save MVMCP for later in the trip - and make that day a non-park day with plenty of time to sleep in and rest in the late afternoon. But you sound like an experienced visitor and probably know all of this already. :teeth:

Whatever you decide, I know it will right for your family. Enjoy the party!
