We are in the beginning stages of planning a vacation for spring break 2006. Is there a place online where we can view a map of the monorail? We'd like to stay somewhere that is on the monorail route. Thanks!!!

Jenny

If you want the monorail route, then your choices are: The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian & The Contemporary. All are deluxe hotels with monorail stops.

Heres how the loop goes: from Mk, the 1st stop is Contemporary, then transportation center, then Poly, and finally Grand Flordian.

Dang! You ladies are quick!!! ::yes:: Thank you so much!!!

Now I have a question about those hotels: Which is most kid friendly as in having the most things on site for kids ages 7 & 9 to do?

I have a 2 yr old and we stayed at Contemporary. I like that over the other ones mainly for location (10 minute walk to MK, good bus service, monorails, and ferries) and to me its all about Disney. My son loved watching the monorail run through the building (which was a great distraction while dining at the steakhouse). We didnt use the pool, but its nothing great. There is a waterslide though. There is a beach area as well (we watched the Water Parade from here). Then theres Chef Mickeys (which we all loved), the shops are pretty good, and theres a great arcade (some say its the best of all resorts???) near the food court/front lobby. Parking is great (we stayed in the South wing and our car was right out the door, not like at GF where you had to walk a bit to get to it). Ive stayed at GF a few times and yes its nice, but the rooms are no where near as big as CR, and its a bit stuffy. The one time in Aug, I made 3-4 round trips to my room carrying luggage each time because the key wouldnt work. I was not a happy camper making that long walk in that heat! A lot of people like the Poly, but Ive heard some complaing about the racetrack noise during the day. Not a problem if youre not there during the day though. Were going back to CR in Jan and I cant wait.

Despite what you may have heard we thought GF was very kid friendly. They host the pirate cruise, Grand Adventure in Cooking and Wonderland tea party. They also have a zero entry beach pool where they do face painting and storytelling and a large quiet pool. It's also one stop away on the monorail and we usually take the boat back since it's more direct than monorail returning from Magic Kingdom. They also have 1900 Park Faire that has a character breakfast and dinner. The dinner is Cinderella's Gala Feast with Cinderella and Prince Charming and the breakfast has Mary Poppins, Pooh, Alice in Wonderland the one that kids like the best the Mad Hatter. All three of my kids loved GF. You can even see the fireworks down by the marina at night where they have the snack place (Gasparilla's). The kids would get ice cream and relax watching the fireworks. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help, everyone! All this info is going to help us as we plan.
