When you stay at one of the Epcot resorts, is it possible to get on the monorail to the TTC and then switch to the MK monorail? I'm trying to decide which resort we would have the smallest amount of bus time at. TIA and sorry if this is a dumb question. It's been so long since I was at WDW and I have never stayed on site.

You could if you walked all the way through Epcot, took the monorail to the TTC, then changed for the resort monorail. It will cost you a day's entry into Epcot plus about an hour of travel time.

It will be MUCH easier to take a bus from the Epcot resorts right to the MK.

Your smallest amount of bus time depends on what parks you'll be spending the most time.

MK-On monorail are the Poly Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. Transfer at the TTC. By boat from the Wilderness Lodge, Ft. Wilderness or TTC. You can walk to MK from the Contemporary.

Epcot/MGM-Boat or walk to either (Int'l Gateway entrance in World Showcase for Epcot) from BC/YC, Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin.

Epcot via monorail-from the TTC take monorail to MK.

Bus trransportation is your only option to Animal Kingsom unless you have a car.

As far as convenience goes, I think the Poly is best for a MK area resort. You can walk to the TTC and get the monorail to Epcot or MK.

When we stayed at WL and wanted to get to Epcot, we rode the boat to Contemporary, and then took the mono to the TTC, then switched monos and went to Epcot. It would have been MUCH quicker to have just taken a bus! Live and learn! Anyway, I think it would be a lot faster to take a bus unless you are already in FW at Epcot.

When we stayed at the BC we did this quite alot. We didn't mind walking from the International Gateway to the EPCOT entrance. We were never in that much of a hurry and love EPCOT.

I have been reading about people not wanting to use busses. I personally love them and have found them to be the quickest way around.

I'd take the bus...it's much faster. I remember always having to budget 45 minutes for the monorail from Epcot to MK, not including the time to walk to Epcot, get through the International Gateway, walk to the front of the park and then out to the monorail.

its much longer, but we have done it before, but only on the way back to the resort, and only when we felt like the stroll and maybe spending a little time in epcot on our way back.

We have gone twice, once in 2002 and again in 2003.

We timed bus service to/from MK from CBR and we decided it about the same as taking a bus from CBR to EPCOT and Monorail to TTC and then to MK.

Bus service is not that bad. I do prefer the bus service at a mod better than a value. It seems like not as many people on the bus. I believe that the last seven days we spent there, with all the bus riding that we had to do we only had to stand on the bus maybe twice. We almost always had a seat. Try the bus service first. If it's not your cup of tea, then try the monorail.

That does work well if you're planning to spending 1/2 a day in one park and then 1/2 at another. We stay at the Swan a lot and will take the bus to MK, when it starts getting real busy we like to head out around lunch time.

If we hadn't had lunch yet we will take the monorail to one of the resort restaurants, have lunch there, then head to the TTC via the monorail and change over to the Epcot monorail and hang out in Epcot for the rest of the day or even vice versa.

You can get real creative with WDW transportation. But, one thing we have learned that if you have a car and you plan to have dinner at another resort that's not within walking distance..take the car if you can. You have to transfer buses most of the time at night to get back to your resort from another and it has taken us close to 2 hrs to get back on some nights. Not fun.
