Question about MNSSHP?

We've never been to MNSSHP before but will be going next Oct when we're down there. From what I"m reading, it's a "party" from like 7-12, right? Besides being able to get on some of the rides and the parade and the trick or treating, what else is there to do? Is it really worth buying the extra ticket for? While I"m sure the parade is awesome as is everything Disney, I'm hoping there is more than just that. Please explain!!!

Yes it is worth it and also the Fireworks are the best.

I think it all depends on what's "worth it" to you. For us, it provided an opportunity to stay in MK later in the evening in a season where it closes earlier. There are some decorations (not nearly as much as my sister experienced in the first couple of years they did it, when she says they went absolutely crazy transforming the park with autumn leaves all over the sidewalks, etc.) and the parade is great. The trick or treating was kind of a non-issue for us, but very small kids will probably enjoy the novelty.

You can have free photos taken (or they used to, anyway) which is a nice memento.

I'm not sure what else you could expect out of this besides trick or treating, a parade and use of the rides. There's a special version of Wishes that's geared toward Halloween, using (I think) Vincent Price's voice. There's some sort of photo you can have taken as well. I thought it was included with the price, but I'm not sure. It's a ticketed event, which means there will likely be fewer people in the parks than on EMH evenings, when anyone staying onsite gets in for free. That has been my experience at least.

I guess there is other stuff they could do for Halloween, but remember MNSSHP stands for Mickey's NOT SO SCARY Halloween Party, and the more ghoulish stuff just would not fit the theme.

Personally, I love MNSSHP. I think it's worth every penny of it. They give lots of candy to the kids, all the best rides are running with manageable crowds, and it's cooler at night, so the costumes don't make the kids sweat too much.

The parade, the fireworks, the ambience are all great, but even if don’t enjoy any of that, MNSSHP gives you a great opportunity to spend several hours at MK with relatively short lines at almost all rides.

We’ve been to MNSSHP twice and, by arriving between 4:00 and 5:00, we’ve had enough time to get on at least as many rides during MNSSHP as we have during a full regular day at MNSSHP. And the party was sold out both times we’ve attended.

If you like Halloween then this is a NOT to be missed event. Even if it's not your favorite holiday it's a fun filled time. We attended our first MNSSHP last year and it was "the BOMB". It was fantastic. The nighttime fireworks and parade Happy Hallowishes was just about the best show we have seen. Not to mention seeing all the characters in "costumes" it was great. I guess it all depends on what you are looking to get out of it. But for us it's worth every PENNY!!! and I do Pinch them!!!

From what I hear, you're not buying an "extra ticket", or rather, when you buy a ticket for MNSSHP, you don't have to use one of your park ticket days for it.

Yeah, I have to agree...it's worth it. :thumbsup2 We went for the first time last year and had a blast. And it wasn't just the rides, it was the way things looked. You know, there is nothing quite as magical as Disney at night and this just made it extra special. We are going again this year but a little earlier than last. In fact we'll be there Sept. 29th but hey, that's okay, I'm just thankful to be going and that they are offering it on that night. :rolleyes1 I think if you didn't go and you had the opportunity, especially seeing your kids ages, I believe you'll be kicking yourself in the morning! :thumbsup2 Just do it; you'll be glad you did! :cool1:

That's right. :thumbsup2 When you purchase your ticket for MNSSHP, it is specifically for that event. It does not affect your magic your way ticket without the park hop option. You could purchase the MNSSHP ticket and show up for the party at 7 p.m. and it would not affect any other MK ticket(s) you had. :sunny:

I was looking at a map of the MK from last year and over Toney's restaurant there was a icon. Is there a special character meal during this event. I was on the phone today and booking my meals and the rep said that the Liberty Inn and Toney's rest are blocked off. Are the Characters special during the halloween event. If so I have to book. The tickets go on sale May 1 and she said you can book meals starting that day as well.

Are there lots of special characters you can trick or treat with? It looked like the trail along the back of toon town had somethign last year.

Who attended and what do ou expect?

Is it very corwded during this evening?

My daughter is going as Ariel and Son is a Lego Bionicle is it ok to not be a disney thing?

LTT is a character meal and a fun and festive place to eat during the parties but Tony's is not a character meal but it is the only other sit down restaurant open during the party.

The rest of the sit down restaurants close at 6:00p

You don't trick or treat with characters...there may be characters to meet and get your picture with and get their autograph but you don't trick or treat with them.

There are trick or treating locations throughout the park. CMs will put candy in your bags. Along the trail from Toontown to Tomorrowland there were Alice in Wonderland characters to meet AND there were also trick or treat spots too.

Depending on which party you go to it can be really crowded (Halloween night) or not so crowded (the beginning of October).

During MNSSHP all the Characters are Dressed up (holloween costums) I think even at the Char. meals.

Toon town trail had 4 large teacups filled with candy (you got a handful at each one )

Crowds are OK we went on the 28th so it was one of the last ones.

Only at LTT and they only wear eye masks, aprons and pluto wears a pumpkin on his head.

I'll add a few more things to the list...
Hear scary stories on the Liberty Square river boat.
Get a free 5x7 professional photo for each person in your party.
Get free face painting...really fancy, not just plain face painting.
Hop on any ride ya want with no wait.
The Villian show at the castle...too cool.
And best of all, you haven't experienced The Haunted Mansion until you ride it at night during the Halloween party!
We had the BEST time last year at the party, it was the highlight of our trip.

Is it worth the extra outlay......Most definately!! In our previous experience it's not just some of the rides but all of them,in fact if you include all the extra bits, you really are struggling to fit it all in in 5 hours!! & DON@T forget the Headless horseman riding down Mainstreet!
SD :firefight

For me, it is absolutely worth it! I would go twice on the same trip. Hallo-wishes is fabulous!!!!! I'm not a fan of parades, but the Boo to You parade last year was the best! Also loved when the villains came out to play on the castle fore court with BBW (Big Bad Wolf) as the DJ. My favorite ride is BTMR at night - rode three times in a row as fast as I could walk through the queue.

It's really a fun atmosphere!
