Question about MLK week

Hi,

My family (2 adults/2 kids) will be in California January 15 through 22, Saturday through Saturday. My original plan was to be in Disneyland Wednesday/Thursday/Friday of that week (i.e. the 19th, 20th, and 21st).

Now I see that if we do that plan, we will miss out on Splash Mountain (as it is closed for refurb starting Jan 18th).

So we can do Splash for one day before the refurb, I thought of a new plan.

Now I am now considering NOT doing Weds of that week in the Disneyland (the 19th), and switching to Monday (which is MLK day). So we would be in Disney on Monday (MLK day), Thursday and Friday instead.

So, my question is: is the park crazy busy on Martin Luther King Holiday itself (Monday January 17th). And if it is unbearable...would be more tolerable on Sunday the 16th?

Just arrive 40 minutes early. Fast pass Indy on the way to splash. ride splash until you get tired of it. Maybe hit pirates and/or haunted Mansion. Grab another fastpass. About 9:20 head over to DCA and open that park as well...

I was wondering the same thing (how crowded the parks will be MLK weekend). I think we're going to move our Feb trip to January, but we want to make sure we get to do HM as well.

Looking at the AP calendars Socal passes are blockd through Monday. I think Monday will be a good bet. Do CA get that day off? Maybe the local kids won't be able to go anyway.

Sorry I'll correct my post I was looking at President's Weekend. Makes little difference though. Most of the APs are SoCal types anyway.
