I am trying to figure out where we are going to eat when we are at MK for the day. I am assuming we are going to try to go back to the house (off-site) for an afternoon rest so I don't want to have to go far for dinner in the MK. We are eating at The Plaza our first night (spending afternoon/evening at MK) so I was looking for more of a restaurant for this night. Which resort is the closest to MK and/or the easiest to get to from there? We will probably want to come back to MK for Wishes at 8pm. Thanks for any help!

Any of the restaurants in the Monorail Hotels, the Polynesian, the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian would be a quick Monorail ride away from the MK. You can check the menus to see what appeals to you at allearsnet.com.
Two that come to mind quickly, given the ages of your children, are Chef Mickey's at the CR for a buffet with lots of character interaction, and 'OHana at the Poly. 'OHana is all you care to eat skewer meats and accompaniements. They have a gentlemen with a ukelele singing, as well as Coconut Races and Hula Hoop contests for the kids. There are great windows overlooking the lagoon toward the MK and the Castle.
I think either of these would be easy, quick and a good choice for you.
Good Luck and have fun!

from Chef Mickey's at the Contemp to MK... five to ten minute walk. Probably actually quicker overall than taking monorail.

I loved OHANA in the POlynesian and I liked Spoodles in Boardwalk,Le Celiar in Epcot, and Mama Melrose in MGM. Those are just some of my favorites.

I third Chef Mickey's. It's a nice easy walk, it's a buffet, though, and if you want an order and wait, there's a steakhouse right next to it. You just walk from the park to the left as you are exiting, down the path, you'll see where to cross, into the hotel, left and behind the wall are the elevators, take them to the floor marked Chef Mickey's, exit, move to the right, and it's right back there off the gift shop area. Chef Mickey's is a character buffet........Mickey and friends come to your table, lots of make-your-own desserts for kids, napkin waving and singing..........it's a great time. When you're done, just walk on back to MK, or if you're tired and have more time you can catch the monorail. It'll stop at the otehr two resorts before the Magic Kingdom. You can actually see the fireworks from the beach at any of those hotels, as well as the electrical water pageant, and then not fight the crowds out of there if you were leaving just after.........you won't have the wishes music though.

Although, Crystal Palace is right in the MK, and you wouldn't have to leave at all. It's a buffet character meal too, with Pooh and friends.

I would go for 'Ohana at the Poly, if you can't make it back to the MK for Wishes. You can see it and hear it from the beach at the Poly. Ohana was really fun and good food.

Theres the Crystal palace in the MK, and I dont know a little girl who wouldnt love to give pooh a hug :flower3:
