Ok quick question.. I have my reservation already booked for November.. Now that they have released the military discounts my brother MAY join us..IF he does, I know he can purchase the military tickets for family and friends.. Can I go to guest relations and get the price difference back (the military ticket vs regular ticket I bought with my package?). Will this screw up my fast passes that I will have has scheduled? We did something similar with my mom back in 2010. I had to buy her a regular ticket to be part of our package but at guest relations they gave me tjhe difference back when we switched her ticket to a florida resident ticket..but that was before FPP...

Yes, it could screw your FPs up. Not sure about the refund though....

Disney doesn't give back money for a ticket price difference. And they don't refund tickets. I can't explain your mom's situation, but it would have been a one-time pixie dust situation. If you have free dining, you have to buy minimum 2-day base tickets, you can't change that. If you're buying dining, you have to buy minimum 1-day base tickets. If you have more than minimum tickets now and you want to go with your brother's AFS tickets, you can call Disney and change the package tickets to minimum tickets. You can take these tickets off MDE and put them on plastic ticket media and take them home with you to use on another visit. But it's laying out money towards a future visit, and if money's tight, that could be a hardship.

Also, if you choose your brother's AFS tickets, he has to lay out the money for them at least 60 days before the trip, so you can get a code for booking FP+. That might be tough for him to do, at close to $200 a ticket, if he isn't certain he could go. He has to be at WDW in person to activate the tickets for you, or the tickets can't be used by you. He has until Oct 3, 2015 to use these tickets, once purchased.

Disney has another offer, you have to phone them for it. It's a ticket-less dining package, but not Free Dining. Not sure if the offer is still available. If not, you have to stay with the 1-day or 2-day ticket to keep Disney Dining.

Disney will allow you to upgrade tickets, which is what your mom did. They won't let you downgrade.
