Question about message I have on MDE

I bought park tickets from UT. I went onto MDE and linked all 4 of them to all 4 of us. These tickets are RFID and new. The message next to my two boys says: only (boy's name) can reassign.

Then if I click on the little "i", I get: Paperless tickets that are expired, in use, or that were purchased as part of a package, cannot be assigned by anyone else. Only the owner of the tickets can assign it to another guest.

I'm confused why it says that. Big deal? Or no big deal?

My biggest concern is that since I can not control those tickets, will it cause a problem with fastpasses. If we change a fastpass will I still be able to change all 4 or will I not be able too because only they are in control of their tickets? I think it's all ok, but it's weird that it shows up like that to begin with.

The only reason I think it would say that is if your boys have their own MDE accounts and you are linked with them??? My husband does not have an account so I can do anything I want with his tickets etc. My cousin has her own MDE account but we linked our accounts because of our upcomming trip. I recently linked our 2 day PH tickets and even though it says I can reassign my ticket, my cousin is in charge of her ticket and I can't touch it. I booked our fastpasses together without any problem. If your boys don't have their own account then it's quite bizzare that it would say that BUT you can at least feel better about the fact that you can still plan everything out Fastpass/ADR wise.

What determines whether they have their own account? We are DVC members and last year there was an issue with DVC linking up with MDE. After hours of phone time, I told the CM I wanted to make sure the boys could go to the parks and access the MDE account if I wasn't there. She did something and they were able to access MDE on their phones. I just assumed they were just linked up to my MDE. I thought they just signed in with my user and password. Do you think they have something separate?

As for fp's, if you wanted to change it, you think you can change your cousins as well? She doesn't have to do her own because she has own account?

My DD17 has her own MDE account. I cannot do anything with her ticket, but I made our FP together and our ADRs with no problem. SHe can also see our FPs and ADRs on her phone. Have your sons check their MDEs on their phones and see if your trip is listed.

I'm pretty sure having your own account would mean having a separate email address and password. From what you're saying I would guess that they just went on using your username because otherwise they would have had to create separate accounts and then you all would have had to send email requests to each other to be able to access each others accounts. I'm going to go with Robo and say this is definitely a glitch. It's really weird though that only theirs would come up as being 'locked'.

Yes, I can go in and change my cousins and my fastpasses and she could actually go in and change them too. Being able to reassign the tickets isn't a big deal if the right ticket is linked to the right person. Disney just allows you to reassign the ticket up until it is used for the first time. Go into the Fastpass+ portion of MDE and play around with it to see if you can schedule your boys Fastpasses (just pick a random day in the next 30 days). If you can all is well, but if not I would give Disney a call to see what the problem might be. Hopefully there isn't an issue!!!!

Good ideas from everyone. Thanks for the help. I'll talk with the boys and start playing around with fastpasses for next month and see what happens. Thanks Again!
