With all the talks about menu changes over the past few months-WDW removing certain meals & desserts from some restaurants, I wondered:

Are their menus getting smaller or are they bringing in new dishes?

I think the menus are gradually getting smaller. Some of the changes haven't bothered me much, but some have. But what are you going to do other then eat elsewhere

That would depend on the restaurant. Some restaurants change menus to use seasonal ingredients. Some get new chefs. Some just subsitute items. I would imagine that some may be cutting back due to escalating costs.

There's talk that some expensive items are removed during the free dining period and then put back when free dining is over, but I can't say I have personally noticed that is the case in any particular restaurant.

Variety is the spice of life. With so many repeat travelers I think part of it is putting new items out there so people don't get board.

Is the reaction to that "Wow, something new" more often than "They removed my favorite dish, I'm never going back." I seem to notice more of the latter right now.

I think the take away is more "memorable" thus we hear more about it.

Restaurants can change menu items, adjust reccipes or reduce portion sizes to help manage cost. This is going to happen everywhere with rising food costs, not just at WDW.

I know when the Figaro fries at Pinocchio's was changed to take off the lettuce and tomatoes, the boards here were hot with outrage. "But I loved them!" I told my husband about the change and both he and I said "thank goodness, now we can eat them."

Humans do not like change. It's a simple as that. We are creatures of habit. We go the same way to work every day. We watch the same TV programs. We shop at the same stores. We eat the same food. Humans are boring. No one would want to watch us in a zoo.
