Ok, heres a really weird character question I need to ask.

Do you think it's alright for an adult like me to get pictures and audigraphs from the DC's? I did last year and although I loved it (especially my picture with Goofy and Max :earboy2: ) I did feel kinda awkward getting my picture taken with Cindy. Very much so because I was the only grown up in line for her! :sad2: She probably thought that there was something wrong with me . :rotfl:

I ask this since we're going back in April and I would like to get some more pics and audigraphs without feeling guilty. LOL

Don't feel guilty at all! DH and I go to character breakfasts, wait in line for the characters, and yes, even waited 25 min. like vultures for the Beast to appear in France (DH's favorite). I even created DH his own special autograph book ;) His first time to Disney was for our wedding, so he never got to experience that before and he just loved it. I did feel a little funny at first, but hey, if a 6'5" guy can approach every single character, then so can I! I don't think the characters mind either - we have a lot of fun with some of them, and just think, they *know* we're not going to try to rip their heads off or anything like that. So go, have fun, and don't worry about a thing, characters are one of the things that makes Disney magical :wizard:

Are you KIDDING ?????

I went alone with Dh in dec 2004 and I ran around the parks for autographs I have been collecting since my first trip in 2002 :teeth:

I don't care what other people think....it's my vacation too. And I wait and line just like anyone else so if I want my picture with cindy or snow white, I'll just assume a pose and smile.....

Disney just makes you act like a kid and for some brief moment, you forget how silly it looks and that underneath that costume is a normal human being.... Somehow I tend to forget that completely when at WDW...that's the magic of it.

Come on go for it if that's what you like to do....it is your hard earned money after all :earsboy:

I'm almost 21 and enjoy meeting the characters just as much as I like going on the rides! Have fun with it... I just went to a character breakfast solo and all the characters were at my table for like 5 minutes flirting (Chip and Goofy) and interacting with me (Minnie was there too!). I even got some great pictures of them at my table looking thru my autograph book! It was so fun!

My favorite character is Snow White, and I always wanted to see her in person. I have been going to WDW since I was 5 and I never was able to see her and it started to become a quest for me. One year I asked a CM where she was going to be and he asked my DD, who was 3 at the time, if she liked Snow White. She said no, my mommy does :goodvibes . The man just laughed and told me where she was going to be, but she was some in Epcot and we were in the MK, another year not seeing Snow White.

So the next year we were in the building connected to Tony's Restaurant (the name escapes me) and we noticed Max and Timon towards the back. Then my DH says to me OMG there's Snow White GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. My heart started to race and I abandoned my DD and DH and dashed over to her, and there she was - Snow White! She was beautiful. My DD and DH came over and low and behold we hit the character jackpot. There was Alice, Max, Timon, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Belle, and Snow White. It was unbelievable. Well....I burst into tears and said to Snow White "I have waited my whole life to see you, can I please take a picture with you." Snow White smiled and giggled and said, "you are so sweet, I have never had an adult so happy to see me." I told her about how I have been seeking her out for years and how this is just a dream moment for me. My DH took so many photos and I was loving every moment of it. Then my DD took group shots with all the characters and since we were in the very back of the store in this little area that nobody knew was there, we had no other people back there with us. It was our own private time. I told my DD to enjoy this because it will probably never, ever, happen again - a once in a lifetime opportunity.

What a memory!!! So anyway, did I feel weird about seeing these characters - no way!! Did I feel even weirder about crying at the sight of Snow White - no way!! This is why we return to WDW every year - because I can go there and feel like a little child in my 30's and not feel ashamed about it. I just love WDW!!!

I Always feel silly getting in line for the "face" characters. So I don't. I will go visit all the 'toons though!

A picture is always good and fun.
Although an adult getting an autograph seems kinda odd to me though.
But, whatever floats your boat.

You're kidding right?

DH and I have no children and on every trip to WDW we have searched out characters for photos and autographs!! We do at least one character meal per trip. We love it! On our October trip seeking out the Villains became our priority, although I was bummed because I couldn't find the Evil Queen, just the "Snow Witch." So on our next trip my DH spotted her in MGM and I RAN to get into line! I did that with the White Rabbit and the Beast to come to think of it... :teeth:

The way I figure it....I paid my admission, waited in line patiently for my turn, and have been a fan MUCH MUCH longer than today's kiddies! So why not?

Has anyone else noticed how much of a flirt Dale is?!?! :rotfl: Robin Hood made me dance with him first before picture/autograph. I've bounced with Tigger numerous times. I've carried on countless conversations with the big cheese. Meeko tried to eat my autograph book. I've told Donald he needs to talk to his boss about making a "Pal Donald," so then he signed my book "My Pal, Donald Duck #1!"

Doesn't bother me a bit. I've gone on solo trips and did the character (even face characters) autograph/pictures thing. Had a blast... had them sign the signature books for/to my kids though. LOL

I do pictures all the time. I get all giddy when I see them. I plan to do the autograph book in October

As you can tell from the picture below, my husband has NO problem taking pictures with characters. In fact, he goes out of his way to get pictures taken with the princesses and any other "female" characters (Minnie included) that he can find. I think I'm going to surprise him with his very own autograph book this time - he would love it!!! :teeth:

While I don't want to have my photo taken with the characters because I don't like to have my photo taken period. But if it's something that you want and is going to bring a smile to your face and a happy memory to last a long time, I say GO FOR IT! :flower: Why should it be the kids who have all the fun with the characters at WDW? :rotfl:

I took pictures with Mickey every time I saw him and any other character that happened to be around. Go for it! It's your vacation, have all the fun you want.

I don't like my photo being taken either. So on the last few trips, we just tell the characters we want a picture of them by themselves. Some are flattered and "fix their hair" for the pic and then strike all kinds of poses. Although Belle was concerned and wanted to make sure I had pictures of myself in my other vacation pictures, which I assured her I did.

I must seem crazy to some of you when I am at Disney! I am an adult, and I am always seeking and meeting characters! I do some trips solo, and I don't hesitate at all to meet the characters I want! I am totally prepared, as I carry at least three autograph books with me at all times, since you don't know who you will meet! :teeth: I never have an issue with it. I even done the 1900 Park Faire dinner solo, just so I could meet Prince Charming!

My only problems come from people cutting around me in the character lines, since they see I have no kids so they assume I am just standing there or something.

I've had that too...some people appear to be totally mystified as to why an adult would want their photo with a character!

I love to see adults get into the whole character thing! I especially love it when they play along. My personal character friends have had adults come up somewhat shyly and make a comment about being a big kid or thinking they are too old. They always get a signature that says "Never too old!!"

Heck, I still love getting pictures and hugs from characters, and I work with them all the time and see them backstage!

Great thread topic. I love to run around the parks getting pictures with the characters, and before I met my current partner, I would get my phots alone with them. When I went to MK in 1997 or 1998, I met Belle and I clearly remember her asking me as a 21 year old male, "Are you "ok" with getting your picture with me, you arent embarrassed?" I replied, "Not at all, B&B is my favorite Disney movie." She grabbed my arm we smiled and its a great picture.

Christmas of 2003 was our first Christmas together (my partner and I) so we went to Disney. He wasn't too fond of "wasting" time looking for characters, but i dragged him along. When we met Cinderella in the Toon Town Tent thingie, he was just as excited as I was. She said "Wow, two handsome Prince's". One of her mice friends, was a bit jealous and wouldn't let us leave until we posed with her! Here's the pics.
