hi

we are leaving dec 8 for a week at dw

our local six flags had a good policy of measuring my 8yo son at guest services and giving him a wrist band that had his height so we didnt have to hold him up at each ride they may want to measure him at and he also dosnt stand up straight each time his measurment may vary 2 inches or so

i called disney today and was transfered to a guest services cm at epcot who said disney dosnt do that but maybe some rides will stamp your hand with height she said they do it at expadition everest but it wouldnt be good at another park i was wondering if anyone else had ever though of this and
asked guest services i thought maybe they could note out GAC card ?

any ideas??

thanks

scott

I´m making an assumption here that he can´t stand and you have to hold him up. If this is correct, they will not expect you to hold him up for measuring - as you mentioned, it´s not really accurate.
My yougest DD is big enough to ride everything now, but when she was little, they would just ask us how tall she was on the rides with height limits. They could see that she was not able to stand. Other people with children using wheelchairs have reported the same.

If he can stand, but doesn´t stand for measuring, I have suggested in the past that people check at Guest Relations to see if they could measure the child and note it on a GAC. No one has reported back, so I´m not sure if they would do it or not. I´d suggest explaining your problem to the CMs there and see what suggestions they might have.

When DS was almost 3 and 40inches on the nose without his shoes we knew he would love the coasters. He's a junkie. We also knew due to his sensory "stuff" being measured at every ride would be tough and we knew he was close enough that we would be asked to measure him. We brought a dated doctors note with his height and weight and then asked guest services to measure him; they did not but noted on his GAC his height. Most rides honored it; BTR was a nightmare. Because of the stairs we went through the handicap entrance, it was dark and very loud and he was already on edge. The CMs were just rude and we felt like telling them to stuff it. He wouldn't stand he kept falling on the ground. We asked if they had a portable stick that they could hold up behind him while we held his hands as we were getting on the ride. They said he had to stand up at the wall measuring place. We finally were able to get him measured but it was a scene and then another to get him on the ride because he got himself so worked up. We ended up riding it 5 more times that trip, but that first time was intense.

The moral is you never know what's going to happen with a particular cast member on a particular day. BUt I would definitely get his height noted on his GAC it may help in some locations.
