Hello, I have a recipe I'm making for jello poke cake. I have the cake baked. It is cooling. The recipe says to poke holes in the top of the cake before I pour the jello over it.

How many holes should I poke? :confused3

Has anyone ever made this?

Yep, I made one last year. They're really moist and very good.

How many holes? A lot. Just take a spatula, turner, whatever you call them and poke holes all over the cake. This is how the jello gets in the cake and makes it yummy!!

Let me know what you think of it when you eat it.

I used the handle of a wooden spoon to make holes. I made a whole about every inch.

I use this fork thing that tells you if your meats done, it's about half the size of the wooden spoon. I go about every inch also. What are you frosting it with?

YUM! Jello poke cake never last long around here.

I use the large fork instead of a wooden spoon handle...and I use more jello than you're suppose to.

For "icing"...just good ol' cool whip! I've gotten a bit fancy with it for holidays...at 4th of July I will use fresh strawberries to make stripes for a flag, and blueberries for the stars...I've used the pretty colored sugars and other decorative sprinkles to add a bit of color. I also use different flavors of jello, but the family fav is strawberry.

Yep just what the others have said. I poke a lot of holes.

Oh man that cake is soooo yummy.

I use wooden spoon to poke the holes and instead of cool whip I use a small layer of pudding. Chocolate pudding and yellow cake. yum

I make this cake too!! Its yummy.. I always just called it jello cake.. I top it with cool whip..
