question about making a reservation

We have 160 points at BLT and want a 1 bedroom for a week which totals up to 227 points. Am I able to make the reservation or do I have to borrow points first before I make the reservation?

Actually this is the type of question that fits under the 'DVC Member Services' sub forum rather than purchasing DVC,

What is your use year & when is your trip?
My recollection is if you want to use banked points you'll need to bank them before making your reservation - but maybe that's because I always bank before I start the reservation on line.
When you make a reservation online it'll use your current year's points and ask about borrowing points to complete the reservation, you say yes to borrowing points and complete your booking.

If you were banking points that transaction has to be done first.

Borrowing on the other hand is only done when you are making the reservation - there is no way to borrow without being in the midst of reserving. What will happen is that you select your contract for the points and it will indicate you need to borrow to complete. You will have to ok that.
