question about Magic Bands

I Didn't see a board for magic bands so I don't know. where to post this question...

I booked a vacation for the end of the month and already received are customized magic bands. But we decided to come a night earlier So I booked just a room only at our same resort, and it wants me to customize new bands, do I need to customize the new ones or will the ones we already got still work? I did go and pick a color for my daughter because we decided on different color than what she already got in the mail. Should I go ahead and pick everyone's color again on the new bands or just leave everyone else's gray and give them back when we get to the resort? I don't know what to do because I didn't think we would get new bands that they would just add the reservation to the bands we already have since when I made the reservation, they linked it to our existing reservation in hopes that we can keep the same room.

When you arrive at your resort the same bands can be used. They will just add the reservation to the band.

You get new bands with every reservation and they work interchangeably, so you can use either set with either reservation. There's no need to "add" anything to either band because the bands are just links to the information on your MDE account.

Every time you make a different resort reservation you will have the opportunity to customize bands. All the bands read your MDE account so all the bands will work. It's really up to you if you want to customize the second set of bands. You could get a different color and choose which one you want to wear each day. I have all but one color and pick which one I want to use depending on what I'm wearing. The choice is yours.

Are magic bands waterproof? Can we wear them when we swim? It would be very convenient if that were the case.

Years ago, we caught a "guest" of our Disney resort about to steal our key card while we were in the pool. On our next trip, we bought the plastic carriers where we stored our key card and some cash, but it was super awkward to swim with it. It would be awesome to be able to wear the magic band no matter where we were and avoid theft.
