Question about Lost AP

I am an AP holder and am headed to WDW tomorrow. I just realized I misplaced my AP card. Do I have to pay a fee for a new one? I read somewhere you have to pay $20 which I think is crazy. Or can they simply link my magic band to my MDE account, which has my AP on it? I did not receive my magic band in the mail so I'll be getting it at the hotel, if that makes a difference.

If you are staying onsite the mickeyband should already be linked to your account. It will be your annual pass. I believe you can still get a replacement card if you want that. You actually will need to get the card as you need to yellow discount card from the annual pass box or the actual annual pass card for a discount on food or merchandise. I've never had to pay anything to get a replacement.

Thank you! I was hoping that since it was already activated on my last trip I would just link to my new band. I am staying on site (OKW) and will ask when I check in to be safe.

We have never had to pay for a lost AP either. Perhaps the $20 is to pay for another MB?

Have never had to pay anything for a replacement but they will likely want to see your ID. They don't do AP stuff at resorts unless you want to purchase a new one, so you will probably need to go to a Guest Relations. You're going to need a card if you want to redeem AP discounts. If your AP is already linked to MDX you are fine as far as the magic band working with it.

I realize you are on your vacation but if you could answer when you get back on where you received this information, that would be helpful. Annual Passholders have never, in my years on this boards and going to Disney World, had to pay to replace a lost annual pass. No one panic on this until we hear back from the OP.

Disneyland used to charge for replacement AP's, not sure if they still do. As far as I know, WDW never has.

You will still need to get the AP discount card, stop by guest relations.

Correct.

If the guest has a legal photo ID, AP's can be replaced free-of-charge, in under 2 minutes, at any ticket booth or Guest Relations.

And, yes, the AP can be utilized in the form of a MagicBand by connecting that AP and MagicBand to a MyDisneyExperience file.
