Hello everyone:) My family has been to Disney MANY times and on one 7 night Disney cruise a couple of years ago and now we are considering doing the land and sea week sometime soon and I would like to hear from those of you that have done this...Do you feel rushed at Disney or on the cruise because your time is split up? Is there bus transportation from Disney to Port Can. on your sail date..is this a good transition or is it stressful?? Also, is it possible to add a date to the beginning land part of the trip and if so, how do you do this..can they do this when you book the land and sea or do you have to book as two separate vacations..any experiences/advice greatly appreciated :cool1:

We did the land and sea two years ago. They will only book that with the cruise at the end. We booked the land and sea, and then did a few nights before. The land/sea started Sunday, but we went down on Friday, so we had Friday-Thursday at WDW, then three days on the ship. That was very short (in fact, we booked the full 7-day before we got off that cruise, because we liked it so much - we sail in three weeks!).

Having the cruise at the end was a great way to wind down. The time at WDW is fun, but exhausting (we have 3 kids). After all that togetherness, the cruise was a great chance to do things separately, too, and still ensure that everyone was having a great time.

As for the transition, it was SO easy! You put your bags out that morning (or the night before), then they take them and deliver them straight to your stateroom. It is seamless between the two parts - your key card from the hotel also works on the ship. Couldn't have been easier. (In fact, I'm a bit apprehensive about the trip this time, because we are going straight to the port.)

I would definitely recommend trying it - it was a great trip!

I am celebrating with a 7 day land and sea in December with my son, and this is our first cruise. We are celebrating my graduation, and we're very excited. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Really happy to read your post, my son especially is concerned about being out on the ocean and getting seasick. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Did your kids do ok? :yay: :cloud9: pirate:

Thanks,

CBE

CBE -

Congratulations on your graduation!

My kids did great! They absolutely loved it. There is great stuff for every age.

And no, none of them got seasick. I did take along some dramamine (one of the formulations works for kids - I think it's the chewable), just in case. My daughter sometimes gets car sick, but she had no trouble at all on the ship.

Thanks, zjnawsaks, for the feedback. My boy is a little concerned about the boat being out in the middle of the ocean. pirate: He's concerned about it sinking. Plus he gets a tiny bit of carsickness once in a while, so he's worried about that. :sad2:

I had planned on taking the dramamine anyhow, but I'll be sure to let him know that there are other kids  out there who didn't have a problem! Hopefully he'll rest a little easier. :sunny: :woohoo:

This is why I booked the land and sea package, so that if either of us suffers from seasickness or anything like that on the cruise, we'll still have the WDW experience! princess: :yay:

Thanks for the congrats, too...I've been working very hard, and this will be such a great celebration for the both of us!

Best wishes,

CBE princess:

I have another question for anyone out there.

I am a single Mom. I want to do Palo, and I did the reservation, but unless I happen to get paired up with another single parent when I get to the restaurant, it looks like I'll be eating alone.

Do they do a table for singles? :confused3

I read on another thread that it's ok to do it single, they are used to that and all and that's why I signed up for it, I don't want to miss it, but I don't know if it's appropriate to ask if there's another single parent out there they can seat me with.

What does everyone else do? :bitelip:

Thanks!
