I just returned from a trip, I stayed 5 nights at BWV in a studio and I had to switch 1 night at BCV in a one bedroom.

In the studio I had a normal full size corkscrew however in the 1 bedroom I had

This

I couldn't figure out if it was a joke or if they actually expected me to use that. Luckily I brought my own with me because at SSR over the summer they had the Bartender one and I can't open wine with that one.

Australians on this forum will no doubt be bemused by the need for corkscrews . Most Aussie wine has Stelvin (screwcaps), it is very convienient, and no more spoiled wine.

And much more environmentally friendly.

But I still don't understand the problem. That's one of the two very simple types of corkscrews used at the fancy winery my mom worked at in the early 80s, and they opened dozens of bottles an hour on tasting days with them. It's also the type given at a small chain of brewery and winery B&Bs in Oregon. Supereasy to use. Simple, low profile, and no moving parts to break.

I don't get the problem either! I think those are easy to use!
