Question about kids' menu

We do not have a dining plan, so we will be paying out of pocket. At a couple of the restaurants where I made reservations, I see things on the kids' menu that my 11 year old would prefer to eat over any of the choices on the adult menu, but it says for 9 and under. Are they at all lenient with that, or would she have to order from the adult menu?

They may well be lenient. Disney is much more flexible on this than practically any other restaurant.

They may adjust the price upwards for guests 10+ instead of using the price for guests 3-9.

Two weeks ago we were at 50's Prime for dinner (we had lunch at Sci-Fi that day too)- I was just not hungry and was looking forward to the gluten free S'mores. I asked my waiter if I could order the kids grilled chicken (I have never done this before) and he said, yes, no problem. Both my kids ordered off the adult menu! :)

They are usually flexible but obviously reserve the right to say no or charge something additional
