Question about kids meals

If you are paying out of pocket and NOT on the dining plan, can a child over 9 order off of the kids menu? My son will be 2 months past his 10th bday and eats absolutely nothing. I realize at a buffet we are out of luck and will have to pay the adult price, but how about a regular table service? Thanks!

Generally, yes. This has been known to vary from restaurant to restaurant and from server to server. Since your son will easily pass as a 9 year old, it most likely won't even come up. The issue usually arises when an obviously adult, such as myself, tries to order off the kid's menu and the server wants to pad their tip, but some places even allow that.

Thanks, that's what I was kind of thinking, just being upfront and asking and hoping! We are gonna have major sticker shock as we will have a newly minted 10 year old AND a 3 year old. So YIKES.

In the past, when I haven't been on the DDP, I have ordered kids meals for myself at CS, because a lot of the meals are so big, I can't eat the entire thing, so I would order the child's meal. However, a lot of the kids meals are not very healthy.

This has been our experience. When our son was that age-ish we had a bit of trouble at LTT and 50's PTC using a childs menu for him. Other places, no trouble at all so it just depends.
