Question about Kidani Standard View

Hi - We have a 1 bedroom standard view booked at Kidani. Here's my dilemma. I am thinking of putting in a room request to be close to the lobby. I know standard view at Kidani = parking lot view. But my concern is if I am close to the lobby near the parking lot, am I going to hear the buses day and night?

Hope I explained myself well. Maybe it's better to be further away to avoid bus noise from the parking lot. Does that make sense? We will have a rental car. Thanks!

The buses aren't anywhere real close to the lobby.

We just got back from a 1 bdrm standard view at Kidani. We were on the on the 4th floor about 6 rooms down from the elevators closer to Jambo. We really liked this location. Noise was never an issue.:goodvibes I actually liked watching the people coming and going. It was great for the bus stops too. We just took the stairs down and walked outside and were there.

Hmmm... wonder if I could request a high floor room close to Jambo? How did you feel about being far away from the Kidani Pool? I honestly don't mind being far from the lobby I guess it's the pool I am more concerned with. Thanks! :goodvibes

Why not request a standard view room closer facing the pool area? This place is closer to the lobby as well.

This is a good idea BUT during our last 2 stays we requested a "quiet" location and got rooms facing the "quiet pools" (at OKW and BCV). Late at night they are (unfortunately) anything but quiet!

In January we stayed in a standard room with a view directly over the bus area. It didn't bother me, and I really enjoyed listening to the music they play at the bus area. The music is switched off after I think 10 or 11 so it doesn't keep you awake, but I liked this location better than the one we had this month that was farther down off the main floor.

We had the same request last year. Exactly the same.

Ask to be on be pool side. We were on the first floor on the pool side one segment from he lobby and you can't hear the buses. Those rooms are made incredibly well.

It was a 3 or 4 minute walk to the pool, so no big deal. I would suggest to ask to be close to the lobby on the Jambo side. I thought it was ideal.:goodvibes

I know standard view at Kidani = parking lot view.

Is that really so?

From looking around there on my last stay at Jambo House, I had the impression that the outside parking lot wasn't that big. So when standing on the balcony and looking straight out you probably would rather see the landscape in the distance.

We had a standard view room a couple of weeks ago. I requested 1st floor near lobby. I got 4th floor 4 sections out from the lobby facing the tennis courts.

The view was perfectly fine the one time I looked out. We were high enough to see beyond the parking area. Not that I ever look out. But with the door shut we could hear buses all night long. It did not bother me. My husband who is a light sleeper would not have been happy. He was only there one night so did not have to deal with it long.

FYI - I remember reading somewhere on here someone had a standard room above the smoking area and that they could smell smoke all the time.

Thanks for your responses. It sounds like everyone has had different experiences. I think I am just going to request a high floor - away from the bus area - and hope for the best!

We were on an upper floor, on the pool side of the lobby, about midway down that wing. I thought it was a great location. We were somewhat close to the pool and to the lobby, and didn't hear any noise at night. Both DD8 and I agreed that it has been our favorite stay so far. :goodvibes

Last august we where at Kidani. We had a first floor Standard view Studio with a view to the lobby entrance and the ME bus stop. Noise was not an issue. Of course, you can ear a faint noise when a bus or truck was passing by.
I can tell you my neighbors and the people passing in the corridor where making more noise.:sad2:

We were there in July. We had a 1 BR standard view. We were on the 2nd floor about 3 rooms down the hall, so we were very close to the lobby. I loved the location. Bus noise wasn't an issue, even during the day when we would bring the baby back to the room for a nap. My older 2 girls enjoyed sitting out on the balcony people watching. We were on the opposite side of the building of the pool, but it wasn't a very far walk. I really loved our room and its location!

We were just at Kidani Village a week ago. We had a two-bedroom lockout on the fifth floor. Our room was the first room off of the elevator near the lobby. It overlooked the front entrance/bus stop. There was very little noise and we liked how easy it was to access the lobby and buses.

Over all i have to give it a big :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We were there this past summer and had no issues whatsoever with noise from the outside.

Here is a pic from our balcony looking back at the entrance to Kidani. We liked the location as it was close to the pool, lobby and community hall.
