question about Kali River Rapids...

I seem to have read that this attraction opens a little later than the actual opening time.....around 10:00.

Have I dreamt this? I am trying to figure my touring plan and I would like to know.

If it does open at 10:00, are fast passes available at 9:00 or are the machines open only at the ACTUAL opening of the ride?

Have been to AK 3 times and never noticed this before.

Any experts out there?

It did open an hour after the park in January when we went. I'm sure it all changes per the season.

I wouldn't do Kali anything but last after our Jan. ride. We had to leave 'cause we were so cold! And we were in bathingsuits.

When I went in March it opened at 10 (which kind of messed up our perfect park plan but we recovered!) but i was also wondering if it was still that way or if they've started opening right away now that it's a busier season....

I think it depends on the season you go. In December, it opened up after the rest of the park.

If it does open later on, when is the best time to do this ride? I wanted to do it early on, so we have the day to dry off (going in a week and figuring we will be dry in an hour with the heat!). To tell you the truth I am not that excited about this ride, not a big rapids ride fan...but the BF is...

erica, here's what we did in march: we got to AK right when it opened, ran to get a fast pass for the safari. then our idea was to hop over to Kali, however it wasn't open yet. so instead, we went to see Bug's Life to kill time before heading back over to Kali (it was finally open) where we rode it 2 times in a row, never even having to get out of the raft. by then our FPs were ready for the safari! As far as kali goes, it's not my favorite rapids ride - not everyone gets real wet. it totally depends on what seat you end up in.

I've been in June and in August and it didn't open until 10. I'm not sure if you could get fast passes, but I know after we rode the safari and then came there, the line was HUGE! Of course that's because it was wrapped at all, just people standing at the closed gate.
