I read about this place on these boards, but I am a newbie with picking trip insurance on my own. I usually have the travel agent do it, and it costs $50 pp from the agency.

So, though I will sound like a dummy, I must ask: how does one sort the differences between all those plans that pop up when you enter your trip info? It's, like, 7-10 different plans.

I see the price differences, so I gather the more expensive ones give you more coverage. What's most important for us is insurance covering trip cancellation due to illness or weather.

We are heading to either DW or DCL in late August of this year (haven't decided which yet) and I want to protect our trip in case of a hurricane or illness. All the other stuff (baggage protection) is secondary to me.

After I entered our possible cruise info (price, dates) It showed lots of choices. I clicked on a few and tried to figure it out and am lost. Help!

More money doesn't mean more coverage. It really varies. You can click compare beside a few, then look over each in a row. Look at the coverage that is most important to you. You can deselect from your comparison list until you find the best for you.

I did alot of research for my DCL cruise that I booked in October. I also found insuremytrip.com policies very confusing to compare on the website. I ended up using squaremouth.com to insure my DCL cruise. I specifically wanted a policy that included cancel for any reason. It was clearly stated on squaremouth.com what each policy included. I think I got a pretty good deal. Good luck.
