Question about incentive?

We are just about ready to buy, but wondered about the current incentive at AK. I understand everything about it with the extra points for this year at SSR. My question is - Is this a great deal now? Or is there always a great deal, if I decide to wait will there be a new better incentive next month? What is the history on incentives? Are they always similar and is there always something out there or are there times with no incentives? Just want to know how important it is for us to decide in the next few weeks.

It's an exchange into Interval International (another timeshare group). There is a $95 fee to do that, and depending on where and when you want to stay, it may take a while to get it.

Thanks for the replies, but I am still wondering is the deal being offered right now a great one? Or should I wait and see if something better comes up?

I think the AKV deal is a very good one. you get extra points plus no dues paid until next use year. It's pretty loaded. I feel it is a little better than the one that gave you just developer's points ,as you get the same amount of free points you buy(matching total) for either a SSR or II exchange and you can bank the current points given for this use year,into next year that can't be used now.

I would call it a good deal for most- or a a very good deal if you really want to go to SSR or do an II exchange this year.

All-in-all I would say it is about as good a deal as the other recent incentive offerings. If you are ready to buy now- take it- it is the best offer out there right now. I don't think it is good enough to spur a premature purchase though. I doubt something better will come along- but something better for you might pop up later, if the currently offered restriced dev. points don't float your boat.

Thanks! I just wasn't sure how much the incentives vary, since I recently began seriously researching DVC. Before that I was just interested in being a regular guest. Now that we are ready to buy, I think it is a good deal for us and we are ready to take the plunge!

Guessing at how the incentives are going to be a little down the road is the same as when I go to buy a new PC. I know somewhere down the line there may be a better deal on the PC I'm looking at, but in the meantime I'm loosing out at using the new PC. (and there will always be another deal after that one ... in DVC I think that's called add-on-itis).

Well, I guess that tells me that there is always a good deal. I just didn't know if the one being offered right now was "extra special". I am getting the idea that all of the deals are probably special and we should just buy when we are ready.
