It wasn't any big deal, since I had wanted to pay it off early anyway, and I wanted the 1% rewards. But I've read enough of these threads to know something about that wasn't right too. Also, I went back and looked at my original confirmation (sent back in July) and it says the balance is due on the day of our arrival. Interestingly, April 21 is exactly 30 days before our trip, so that date seems legitimate. But my guess is that the CM was wrong. This wouldn't be the first time that someone got incorrect information from a CM. I trust the veteran posters here more than CMs.

When it comes to paying for rooms, I don't know what to believe. I made our room-only reservation for a 2016 May stay at WL last July and paid the deposit. When the spring discounts came out in January, I called WDW and upgraded our room. Still a room-only reservation, no package, and my reservation number did not change. The CM told me that our balance would be due by April 21. In February, I called WDW and paid off the balance with our Disney Visa. I wasn't sure the payment would go through, since I had seen on some threads that you cannot pay off a room-only reservation early. However, the payment went through without any problems, and Disney even sent me a confirmation email that the entire amount for the room had been paid. Has anyone else been told that they had a deadline to pay off the balance of their room before their trip?

She was wrong. If twas truly a room-only, there's no 30 day deadline.
